These Dalglish apologists have to keep telling themselves Dalglish was sacked for not coming forth when in reality he was sacked for making numerous mistakes throughout the season and then finishing eighth.

I would describe them all as mistakes. I'd also describe not even giving Carroll a chance as a mistake.

If we finish eighth I'll be disappointed but looking at the players Rodgers has brought in and the style and tactical ability he has, without having £100m to spend, I'd be confident of us improving on that, the following season. I didn't feel any of that with Dalglish.
