Hahahahahahaha stoopid scousers getting short changed by their owners......oh wait
OP you should clarify it by saying 12.7mn average net spend
Atleast you have a positive net spend

How much has been cut from the wage bill as you have released/sold 10 players more than you have brought in.I'd guess you have saved £15-£20milion a year in wages alone.
Neon they bought one of the biggest football institutes in the world and all they did was pay the RBS debt 330M. That's very cheap for a club like Liverpool.
Sorry whats the point of the article?
For me it highlights lack of ambition and a weakening of the squad.
Very good point Phil. They got rid of the high earners and reduced the wage bill which works both ways for pro FSG and anti FSG.
Brendan's - You have summed it up the manner of the article. We have owners who boast that we have the money to compete with anyone in the world but in truth they are all talk.
Maybe i was day dreaming, but we're'nt we promised a world class signing this summer??
Who was it??
As Cereal said that's not net, that's average net per window.
So you're saying circa £50M invested over 2 seasons? That's not bad considering they reinvested spend from sales as well to the tune of about £100M according to your figures...
Not sure your evidence supports your argument considering they also shifted millions of pounds of debt off our books.
Pretty good going considering our squad is a lot better than what it was. Maybe we have now shaken off our ridiculous spending tag. We're now in the real world working towards sustainability. I was very happy with our transfer window until we let Carroll go on loan and didn't sign a replacement.
The transfer window is over now, we can't sign anybody so it's now time to get behind the team and the players that we do have. A season like this and we'll have saved a fortune, plus will have any monies made and then the owners will be able to spend profits, of which there were none in the last season, on transfers, which is what we all want. We don't want the debts and the uncertainty.
The Clint Dempsey debacle was the worst thing in this. FSGs own network were telling us he had already joined and that enraged Fulham who made sure we waited for deadline day. Having rolled over and agreeing to sell him for 5m plus add ons FSG still pull the plug! You couldn't make it up! The player went out on a limb for us and we let him down. Lot of that around at the moment.
TOOR,
Totally agree, this window + Carroll staying and I would have been delighted. We're 1 striker short now.
I'm not a Liverpool fan, but I'm amazed that he wanted to join from Fulham and stated so, but Liverpool offered an insulting offer. Now you have only 2 viable strikers. Business rules again!
Brendan's style anyway is for goals all over the pitch, especially from inside forwards. You guys will be fine Aissadi might turn out to be a genius purchase
TOOR how is this good when we have ambitions in finishing in the top 4? To me its a white flag to accept that we won't finish in the top but we are ok now cos the wage bill is manageable. If you are happy to accept that state then thats up to you but there are plenty that want to see us be a big club again.
Where are your goals going to come from. With the front line you have you are going to struggle to get many goals, but your midfield also doesn't look laden with goalscorers
Cereal you seem far to sensible to be an Arsenal fan mate!
The attacking midfielder - Gerrard in our case - should be chipping in with 10-15 a season too considering how far forward he's allowed to play
How much was paid out in contract settlements to players leaving? I.e Aqua who you say we got £5.5m for, we would have had to settle the remaing years of a contract that was worth 3 mill a year, so I think you'll find that after getting £5.5 for him £5.5 went back to him to supplement his wage cut at his new club.
But let's not let the facts of reality get in the way of a good bìtch. Your article is very misleading also as the reality is that we (if your values are right, which they're not) have a net spend of £12.7m per window, not four windows!
The reality that we are still paying the price of previous owners and managers miss using funds and we had a good window!

Because things take time. We're taking the long route, which if it works is the best route and the sustainable route, instead of the risky route H&G took, which nearly left us in administration.
We now have the youngest squad in the Premier League of which there are many promising players. We have a club which is sustainable and after losing £50m last year, this year we will make profits, which bodes well for transfers next season.
The difference is, I still think we are a big club. Some of us want to see the club being sustainable, as we love the club. We then know what success will come after that, instead of blowing money all over the place and ending up in the state we were in before FSG came in and saved us, just in time.

you can only say you have had a good window once your players start playing. If by January 1st you are bobbing along around 8th-12th and are 10 points or more off 4th then you haven't had a good window. If you are in the top6 and have a chance of finishing top4 then you have had a good window
Only time will tell

If we accept a bit from a club and tell the player "we've accepted a bit for you talk to them, we still have to come to an agreement over they're remaing contract with us.
Look at Adeabayor. He wouldn't leave city untill they gave him his money! Just because you accept a bit from a club doesnt negate the deal they have with us, they have to be compensated by us!
