Bit of a weird one as well but i always rated Milan Baros, thought he was unplayable on his day

Duncan Edwards played as a makeshift striker for England in an away game and scored 6

i think you should put them in order.

i feel a bit uncomfortable with them not being in order.

Dont think ANYONE could beat that

I think Cruyf was more or less regarded as a forward who came deep similar to Rooney

Pele has like 1000 goals in 1100 games

I'm slightly concerned that Andy Coles name is even on the same page as Dalglish. Could we sort that out OP? Having movement while being utterly profligate should not put you on an "all time strikers" list IMO.

Same with Inzaghi - "born offside" is probably about right.

When you think about Fat Ronaldo, Puskas, Muller, Dalglish, Pele, et al and then Cole and Inzaghi I reckon it puts it into perspective.

JPB,

Great striker, like you say as lethal as they come. He scored a late equaliser against us in a European Cup semi final and left us clinging on and domehow we did...

Still can't believe Martin O'neill chose to sign Heskey over Falcao a few years ago

Fan G,

It wasn't just the goals with Puskas as extraordinary as his record is, by all accounts he was a genius with the ball. He
probably put on the greatest performance ever at Wembley for good measure, we thought we only had to turn up so it goes.

Infamous, yeah, Baggio was another genius.

Oscar, trouble with Pele's stats is that they're inflated by all the exhibition games they played back then, which aren't normally counted in modern-day tallies. Although FIFA don't acknowledge the figure, counting friendlies some sources credit Puskas with up to 1,800 goals in his career.

Pele's tally in official games is virtually the same as Puskas's.

Yeh i know mate noticed when i just checked. Your guy slightly has the edge and definitely has the edge in international goals. Think pele had 77 in 92 for brazil whereas your guy had 84 in 85

Don't know if his name's been mentioned, but Hungarian Laszlo Kubala is also regarded in Spain as one of the best second striker's back in the days of Pelé and co.

Puskas was one of the all time greatest players, not just goal scorers

Top 5 imo

I don´t think anyone can argue with Puskas´s stats but for some reason history hasn´t remembered him in the same light as the likes of Pele which he should be.

Can only go by what other people say, as I never saw him in action. Hard to imagine any team has ever had a strike partnership to match Puskas & Di Stefano though.

My parents attended the legendary 1960 European Cup final at Hampden Park - 4 goals from Puskas and a Di Stefano hat-trick.

Camsell also won nine caps for England, scoring 18 goals

------------------------------------------------------

Why did he only get 9 caps then ?

Which genius decided to stop picking him for England ?

If Nistelrooy is there than Ian Wright has to be there too.

Superb,

I'd argue that history has remembered him fairly well. As itsonlyagame points out for the 7-3 final, the 6-3 demolition of England were he tore the likes of Billy Wright apart and simply being part of that Hungary team.
