From a very funny film with sexy women........AND.....AND.....AND?
And we have two of the star men of that squad
It's a shame they can't perform for their country as they do for their clubs. I have the match down as a draw on my 4 team accumulator.
Don't think they are that good, tbh. Don't think they will win the group, and will be in a battle for a play off place.
Kompany yes, Hazard yes. Apart from that I don't think many would be certain starters for England at the moment. Vermaelen and Fellaini obviously good players, and a few are talented but unproven really.
I don't think you can count mirallas as a "star man". Barring a few goals in a very weak league, he has done buger all so far in his career of note
Does he start in this....
"amazingly strong squad.
Looking through that man for man, there are very few positions that an Englishman would occupy in their team."
I guess its because he is now at Everyone he has become a poor player.....or just since you wrote this article
And you dare accuse me.of being bitter
I did say very few positions....obviously that one being one of the weaker.
I've not said he is bad player but certainly done nothing to suggest he is a world beater either. You disagree?
Bitter? Not mentioned once here I'm afraid.....must be that chip!
That and Gerrards and Johnsons positions I am guessing...
He has had one start in English football and has two goals and two assists.
And starts in" an amazingly strong squad" so must be a star man.

Ahhh. Two from the golden generation!
This is their golden generation.
========
Their golden generation was in late 80s early 90s. So unlucky not to achieve something of note.
Lets see if this generation can take them to at least a major tournement before comparing them to the great teams of that period.

According to an article in the Guardian today this team is also not the culmination of a long term youth plan.
It is primarily pure luck that they have such a collection of players.
They haven't done anything yet though, didn't even get to the Euro's, so I don't think anyone in South America will be too worried about them.
European teams don't win in South America anyway. Spain are the only ones who have a cat in hells chance
I don't think they had the depth they have now though.
========
Have they got depth? A lot of potential but not a lot of proven stars.
The 86 side got to a World Cup Semi final (only undone by the brilliance of Maradona), the current lot have yet to qualify for a tournament.
Only time will tell I guess, but I personally do not see them as THAT good.
Ah yes, that awful awful Gerrard with his 150 career goals and captains armband for club and country. Must be shight. Funny how people keep picking Johnson as first choice...must all be wrong

No just thinking.of the positions the belgians wouldn't.get into Lucas.
Our Kevin has managed to be a starter for " an amazingly strong squad " at 24 and compared with a fine player who has 6-7 years on him.
Just drop the bitterness, geez

Haha what bitterness is this?
You lumped on an article about the Belgian squad on the Liverpool board.
You got your fan-e in a twist when I said that mirallas was not one of top players.
Didn't once say he was a bad player either
And to take nothing away from their very good teams that used to qualify, it was a whole lot easier back then
=============
But less teams qualified, and they didn't have the fall back of 8 nation play offs. In 86 they beat a very, very good Dutch side (the one that went on to win Euro 88, Guillit, Rijkaard, van Basten, van Tiggelen) over two legs to qualify.
As for the perception in Belgium, lets be fair the generation just gone was allegedly our "golden generation".
