I think Citys team cost 168 million, from memory of seeing a similar article.
They stole most of them youngsters off of other teams. Siem de Jong came from De Graafschap, Christian Eriksen from Odense, Aldenweireld from Beerschot etc.
They are a disgrace

, but in reality it was a great effort by a team that was built in a good, cheap way against a team that cost such a lot.
The Dutch youth system is pretty amazing, think the Belgian set it up prettty similar.
A lot of it's down to the general attitude they have towards sports on the continent. Your considered a weirdo if your not part of a sport club in some shape of form.
In Germany the amateur teams facilities would put most professional SPL clubs to shame

Ajax's system is the way to go and has been for decades, if it wasnt for the EPL, Serie A, La Liga living beyond it's means then they probably would still be challenging year after year.
For a club like Ajax these days it is swings and rondabouts!
