U really need to look at shewags average in England, SA and NZ before putting him in the outside sub team.
Considering that England have just lost Strauss to retirement it only realistically leaves the options as Sehwag or Gambhir alongside Cook in such a team.
Now I'd rather have neither to be blunt (overseas) even though I've been a huge admirer of Sehwag's for many years, great entertainer.
I recall Gambhir had a purple patch a few years back and I think he scored some good runs for India abroad but he's looked out of sorts for a while now and there's flaws in his technique that are exposed all too often it seems.
Sehwag has regressed on seaming wickets, for the first few years of his career he fared reasonably well. I remember him looking competent against a decent attack over here when he was younger. Now he looks frenetic rather than positive and his lack of foot-work coupled with a weakness against the bouncer leaves him in trouble, if the pitch has a bit of nip. Still if it's his day thats your lot. Class act if he gets going. For that alone he'd have to get the nod although it doesn't say much.
I'd also have Finn in my side both home and away. You could make a reasoned argument to include him over Swann in India. I'd certainly have him ahead of Broad both home and away.
Not only Sehwag outside subcontinent but you surely need to check Anderson's average in the subcontinent.
I understand theres a shortage of bowlers when you have indian bowlers to add but still Anderson is a completely lost bowler when he bowls in India.

Neon, maksi only said to what you've pointed out in your article below- You seem to agree with him not me. Heres a snippet of yours words:
"To be honest, playing them in any other country in the world, England win.
In India, is the only chance India have. If England adapt, they win..simple"
Basically fella, what your saying is england win everytime in all other countries, and if they ADAPT in india then they will win there too
Now, who the folk needs maksi when we have Neon India bashing. what a pension pot

Whilst we are on the subject of England and India. I saw an article on the news today about the war in 1944 and how British and Indian troops worked together to protect an area in India from the Japanese.
It was good to see and puts things in perspective.
What a pathetic mix..
1. Sehwag
2. Cook
3. Trott
4. Tendulkar
5. Pietersen
6. Kohli
7. Dhoni
8. Ashwin
9. Swann
10. Zaheer
11. Finn

No, it is not. Aid should continue at least until 2047 which will mark 100 years of independent. After all the treasures they looted from India, they are complaining about a measly annual £250mn.
