666,

Excellent as usual, but you forgot to mention that Steve Walsh is a bottom orifice as is that ginger haired toothless itinerant who's name I've forgotten.

Do we mention David Speedie.? Steve Claridge.? The Turk.?

I've strived for as much new material as possible; difficult given that there are three previous HGT's to Leicester, and all of the above were mentioned in those.

Feel free to bring them up in comments, but I've left them out of the article for that reason.

Re Jimmy Glass. Unlike this year's glittering array of sporting heroes vying for the title of Sports "Personality" of the Year, 1999 saw a paltry collection of potential winners. Pierre van Hooijdonk was bizarrely overlooked for the Overseas category despite performing manfully for the unfortunately relegated Notts Forest. Derby finished 8th in the top flight, ahead of the likes of Spurs and Everton. Man City were in the third division. Cripes.

Anyway, Glass was apparently streets ahead of the pack for scooping the award, until the BBC decided he wasn't a glamorous enough winner and "arranged" for it to be Lennox Lewis instead. B'stards.

Re Heskey. Yesterday I was driving from Shrewsbury to Telford on a side road and came across some freshly-sprayed graffiti, an expletive-ridden tirade against Emile Heskey. Obviously, it was all fair comment, but the timing seems odd. As we know to our cost, he has a habit of worrying sheep, so maybe he has recently forayed into this part of the world and upset the farmers.

Well played, 666.

Cheers 666. Good to see you've freshened it up with new 'facts' rather than just regurgitate an old
handy guide. Well done

Incidentally, an interesting article on Jimmy Glass (and what happened to him next):

Cheers y'all.. I wouldn't have bothered usually as I'm up to my eyes at work, but JA Fox has been looking forward to it so much and reminding me at every opportunity

Good stuff, ewe've managed to ram a lot in.
Should have flocks reading it for shear entertainment –
I don't know wether it isn't a bit woolly though.

Hahaha, couldn't believe it when you got kicked off/boycotted the 606.

But was made up when you returned in time for our handy guide.

What are you lot like eh?

It wasn't a boycott; I wouldn't give an assurance that the 'perceived tone' of a comment I'd made (which was a perfectly fair comment) wouldn't be repeated in future; they wouldn't de-restrict my account, I wouldn't give an assurance that accused me of something I'd not done, and hence the impasse.

It was resolved by my assuring that I wouldn't intentionally make a 'threatening' post and their acceptance that I hadn't previously, and so here we are. Well, some of us anyway.

I don't make threats, I issue promises

The Derby board is just one big soap opera

How is Colbi?

Economical with the truth as ever, 666. He was re-instated after a tireless campaign from a fellow-poster, against this person's better judgment apparently, to get Admin to allow him back once he had made the appropriate snivelling apology to all concerned.

But that's all in the past now, so let's say no more about it.

The full campaign, verbatim:

Lesser Contributor: "Free 666!"
Admin1: 'No'
Lesser Contributor: "Okay; sorry to have troubled you"

I'm like the Aung San Suu Kyi of 606, and stuff.

Well done 666. Amusing, prickling of foxes, making the Trees realise what they don't have and raising the spirits of the Rams

That's a very long list, but a sense of humour is somewhere near the top!

That's unfair. How can you be a Forest fan WITHOUT a sense of humour?

Yes. Afterall, we all laugh at Derby and it is so easy to do at times
