Tiger Woods won his fifth Green Jacket, and fifteenth major, by one stroke ahead of three runners-up. It left him one shy of Jack Nicklaus' record six Masters wins, and three short of his record eighteen major wins. At age 43 he became the second oldest winner, again only bettered by Nicklaus who won at age 46. It was 11 years after his last major win, the 2008 U.S. Open, and 14 years since his last Masters win beating the previous record of 13 years held by Gary Player. Due to the high profile of Woods, and his storied fall from the top of the game due to personal issues and injuries, the victory generated a large amount of publicity around the world, and is regarded as one of the great sporting comebacks.

Teemu Pukki scored twice and missed a penalty as Norwich City beat Birmingham City to go 10 points clear at the top of the Championship.

Aitor Karanka's Blues, who looked to have turned the corner with victory against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday, gave a spirited display.

But, after dominating early on, they were undone on 26 minutes when Dimitrios Giannoulis and Kenny McLean linked up down the left to slip in Pukki on the left side of box and he drilled home a powerful left-foot shot from a tight angle.

Blues then not only survived Pukki's miss from a 35th-minute penalty after keeper Neil Etheridge clipped Todd Cantwell, they hit back to level just three minutes later through Ivan Sanchez.

But the hosts' luck was out when the ball broke kindly for the Finnish striker to fire Norwich back in front.

And, with Blues committed upfield chasing a second equaliser, on-loan Spurs midfielder Oliver Skipp capitalised on a three-on-one breakaway to wrap it up five minutes into injury time.

Dele Alli scored a superb overhead kick as Tottenham cruised into the Europa League last 16 with an 8-1 aggregate win over Austrian side Wolfsberger.

Spurs were already in control of the tie following a 4-1 first-leg victory and quickly asserted their authority at home with Alli's spectacular effort.

The Indian team underwent major improvements under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly and guidance of John Wright, India's first foreign coach. India maintained their unbeaten home record against Australia in Test series after victory in 2001. The series was famous for the Kolkata Test match, in which India became only the third team in the history of Test cricket to win a Test match after following on.
