Inter Milan have won their first Serie A title in 11 years after second-placed Atalanta drew with Sassuolo.

The Milan giants are 13 points clear after Saturday's win at Crotone with four games to go.

Inter finished second to Juventus by a point last season, but Antonio Conte has ended Juve's run of nine straight titles in his second season in charge.

It is Inter's first Scudetto since Jose Mourinho won both Serie A and the Champions League in 2010.

The title is Conte's fourth Serie A title, after winning the league in three consecutive seasons during his spell as manager of Juventus between 2011 and 2014.

He also won the Premier League in his first season at Chelsea in 2017.

Connah’s Quay took a step closer to the Cymru Premier title after a 0-0 draw with The New Saints at Deeside Stadium

Both sides played to an even affair with few opportunities in a nervy affair.

The draw leaves Anthony Limbrick’s side needing the Nomads to drop points if they are to reclaim their title from their bitterest rivals.

Rangers underlined their status as the Scottish Premiership's dominant side with a third Old Firm league victory of the season against 10-man Celtic.

The game sprang to life with three goals and a red card for Celtic's Callum McGregor within seven first-half minutes.

The midfielder saw red after Kemar Roofe's opener, but Odsonne Edouard levelled before Alfredo Morelos smashed the champions back ahead, Roofe added his second and Jermain Defoe slid in a late fourth.

The victory means Rangers are two games away from an unbeaten league campaign, which would match their city rivals' feat of 2016-17.

Celtic are already sure of second spot but trail their rivals by a galling 23 points, and have gone a full season without winning a derby for the first time since 1999-2000, losing four out of five games to Rangers in all competitions.

Lewis Hamilton fought back to pass both Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen for a brilliant victory in the Portuguese Grand Prix.

The seven-time champion fell to third as Verstappen's Red Bull overtook him at a restart after an early safety car.

But he passed Verstappen four laps later and then hunted down and did the same to his Mercedes team-mate before moving on to control the race.

The win gives Hamilton an eight-point championship lead over Verstappen.

It was a statement race for Hamilton, who has moved on to 97 career Grand Prix victories, and a clear demonstration of his unquenched desire to secure a world record eighth world title this year.

Middle English quenchen, "to extinguish, put out" (heat, light, fire, also of desire, hunger, thirst), also figurative, "to bring to naught, eliminate, render ineffectual" (c. 1200), Old English acwencan "to quench" (of fire, light), from Proto-Germanic *kwenkjanan, probably a causative form from the source of Old English cwincan "to go out, be extinguished," Old Frisian kwinka. No certain cognates outside Germanic; perhaps a substratum word. Especially "to cool or extinguish by means of cold water," hence "to drench in water" (late 15c.)

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party has failed to win a key state in elections held amid record Covid-19 deaths and cases.

The BJP targeted West Bengal heavily during campaigning but it was comfortably held by the incumbent, Mamata Banerjee, a fierce Modi critic.

Mr Modi has been accused of focusing on polls rather than the pandemic.

Elections also went ahead in Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala states as well as the territory of Puducherry.

The party held power in the north-eastern state of Assam but failed to make major gains elsewhere.

For 10 straight days, daily cases in the country have topped 300,000. It recorded more than 360,000 new cases and 3,417 deaths on Monday. On Sunday, India set a new record for daily deaths, with 3,689 recorded. Hospitals are facing dire shortages of beds and medical oxygen, with many Indians resorting to desperate pleas on social media to secure help.
