Will..........................The big howler from the ref today was not booking Defoe for his Bale impression.
I agree that Defoe should have been booked, it was stupid & wrong. Look forward to one of your lot admitting when your players dive!

There was contact but Bale went down easily, have seen penalties given for less (usually for Arsenal and Man Utd).
Never a yellow because there was contact, will we ever get a penalty ever again!
Minimal contact doesn't mean he goes down, like an earlier poster said if that was a foul anywhere on the pitch there wouldnt be a game of football.

The problem is it's impossible to win a penalty for a foul without going down these days..

we admit when our players dive, most of us wanted cazorla banned, well i did anyway, same with jenko.
He wouldn't go down like that anywhere else on the pitch.
What pees me off is that the commentators are saying that he could have stayed on his feet. Ie there was contact but. Maybe so but that is contact in the box without getting the ball. They are all a bunch of
Redinthehead....................................No blinkers, I have condemned Bale for diving on occasions, however as an ex referee & looking at the replays there was definite contact by the defenders knee on his leg & this allied to the arm grabbing his shoulder would be enough to bring him down!!
We certainly don't need any lectures from Liverpool????
Listen, you have a really top class player in Bale, but why has nobody in your squad or management team taken him to one side and told him he'll be villified like Suarez if he keeps going down se easily? Whether there's a tiny bit of contact or not, 5 bookings speak for themselves.
Even Dwight Yorke said it was a pen
Definite pen. But atkinson is the worst ref in the country so I'm not surprised.
Yorke always sides with the forward
Oh well. GB can have a rest after his top performances this season.
Difference with Suarez is that he goes down without any contact from a standing start, and over reacts every time he is tackled.
the arm grabbing his shoulder

??!
You don't need lectures, more like a sight test.. No wonder you're an ex ref!
Just showing more angles & even Andy Cole says it was a definite penalty.
Slow motion shows Bale's leg moving on the impact of the defender's knee, plus the grab by the arm too.......................
Get down to specsavers guys!!
I don't agree that it's a pen, Bale really needs to learn to stay on his feet, or at least look like he's trying to stay on his feet, these days at any sign of contact he goes to ground too easily, arms stretched out superman style and to anyone watching it seems like a dive, the ref included. I'm not saying Gareth is a diver, because he could really do with a break sometimes.
Now he's made a name for himself though, he just has to resign himself to the fact that he's going to see a prejudiced stance from the ref.
Yes, there was contact and it could easily have been given as a pen to anyone else.
It certainly did not deserve a booking though, and this particular incident was not, in my opinion, a dive.
You opposing fans though, are looking for any excuse to have a go at Spurs to assuage the blame from your players that have been guilty of the same thing.
5 bookings = trigger happy media led refs
Still the right match result though!!!
Get down to specsavers guys!!

From the same mind that brought you, "this allied to the arm grabbing his shoulder would be enough to bring him down!!" you really are too much greavsie.
Stop ranting!
Seriously the referees are making a scapegoat outta Bale. He had contact from an arm an also a knee but HE got booked for diving!
Awful decision!
It's is a facking penalty! 2 bits of contacts on 2 different parts of bale!!
Your all either blind or stupid to think otherwise
If we think about it in a positive light, after the one match ban, Bale is free to mug off our rivals once again.
