Great player Gerrard not what he was though but even then still better than a lot of players in this division.

Great post. It shouldn't even need to be said but anyhow, I hope the fools are reading.

Imagine how good he'd be if he wasn't "past it"

Isn't it TOOR!

At least 50% of people on here were saying get rid

Some LFC fans (Sorry Fred) said he had to be fazed out because he cant play 4-3-3

Any player can play any formation. They just have to get used to it.

Downing and Henderson are starting to slowly pay back transfer fees. They are showing guts and working hard. For me thats the minimum but they are also showing quality.

Happy.

There were points in the season where Gerrard was having a bad few games - and as with any player you are allowed to criticise that.

But recently he has come and on strong and equally you have to praise his recent good performance. I'm damn happy he has proved me wrong as he's a wonderful player!

He was fantastic last night, but I still think he's had some very indifferent games. The biggest pointer towards that is the fact that people are saying "what do you think of Gerrard now?" - people wouldn't be saying that if there hadn't been a significant upturn in Gerrard's performances.

He shouldn't have played so many minutes. Earlier in the season he was keeping his place despite games passing him by, and even now that he's coming into some real form, he should be spared once games are in the bag. I can't ever remember him playing so much football, even when he was younger, and considering the complications he's had with recent injuries, I think we're playing with fire constantly putting him in.

Well played though, Stevie. If we can keep him and Suarez firing like that, we'll start to climb the table. Henderson was great too, and it was an encouraging, confident cameo from Allen, too.

Pies are great haha!!

He has come good now and I'm pleased about that, however i don't think anyone on here can say he wasn't poor for the first quarter of the season

We are no longer relying on Stevie to carry us. That mantle has moved over to Suarez BUT lets see how things progress in the 2nd half of the season.

Its not about SG only.........the whole team.......incuding Downing is on the up!

Criticised him once or twice after bad games but he's been world class recently.

Gerrard didn't play brilliant in the first part of the season but there were more than just him.

We were playing a strict 433 system which we had only tinkered with over the previous two years.

We are fighting for consistency. We will perform with consistency but cant guarantee wins yet.,

You can tippy-tappy the Shiite out the ball all you like but all 3 goals came from long range passes which involved SG at some stage.
That's why he's back - no tippy tappy where SG is concerned.

It's an awful time for our next match to be at OT, we could've done with another easy-ish match to build more steam.

I hope that, if the result goes against us there, people remember that we're still capable of good performances. I struggle to come onto our board after draws or defeats these days, the negativity is overwhelming.

This is the biggest problem with our fans supporting the collective progress of the club as a whole.

Over Christmas we won 3 out of 4 games but people went nuts over the Stoke defeat. I was disappointed with that but we were leading and the first goal came from a slip from Skrtel.

We won at QPR and beat Fulham and Sunderland at home but the biggest reaction was the defeat.

I'd happily win 3 out of 4 for the rest of the season. We'd finish in the top two.

And one of the worst culprits for overwhelming negativity is on this current thread in the name of Brendan's 433.

I'm less bothered about SG's superb passing game coming back, he was never going to lose that. I'm more impressed with the improvement in his positional and defensive play in the deeper midfield position. That combined with big improvements from Downing and Henderson (who with Saurez is a nightmare for teams trying to play out from the back) means we really are starting to dominate teams.

The one exception being versus Stoke but the mistakes made that game are pretty obvious.
