Also surely one of the reasons to post this article is to receive some genuine feedback from the people who are going to be your consumers admin. Ignoring their opinions isn't a great way to go about ensuring its popularity. I'm sure you've put a lot of time and effort into it, but things can still always be improved. There's still a loong way to go before it's a a popular website. need to fill it with content first.
Best off luck with it though
My two cents re the website- Pretty key point but not convinced by the jalob name. If i saw it on a search engine I wouldn't think it had anything to do with football. At a minimum you need to have something on the title page explaining what it stands for. What's an L.O.B ?
Also is it all going to just be peoples' opinion pieces, or is it going to have actual objective news? I don't trust people from here to give anything less than hugely biased and questionable articles, but i may be wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The plan was to have a few opinion pieces which didn't date too bady prior to launch. We would if truth be told like so many other sites expect a degree bias on news pieces too. But the cheap wum stuff just wont get published. As it is only the editors who can approve content.
' Ideally we would also be tapping into people who support some of the more under-represented teams on ja606(You know who you are).'
Do you mean Man U now that they have jumped ship to Arsenal, Man C, Chelsea and Liverpool ???....

Are we all allowed to write or only certain posters.
I can contribute on South Asian Football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Essentially everyone is allowed to write, either submitting emails to the editor or requesting we create a writers account for them. Only the editors are able to approve the content for publication tough.

Looks far too complicated this new forum. Cannot we keep the forum as just a simple forum please. I do not want to join Mensa just to post a football comment.
Also the various board bans which a lot of posters are currently under, including my goodself seems very harsh to be a lifetime ban. Surely it should be lifted after say six months. It cannot be good for certain boards to have absolutely no opposition supporters allowed because they have all been banned, ie the Liverpool board.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where to begin?! I wouldn't worry about MENSA Sandy, I'd say MENCAP would suit your needs more.....
And where I'd agree that lifetime bans are usually very harsh, I'd guess that you're very lucky to still be on the site full stop, such is the vitriol you frequently come out with
Also can we have a limited word count.....it may stop people doing an article that takes 30 minutes to read.............
Approx 3 Editors: Aside from wiring articles, these are the users that will ensure the articles are fit to be published then publish them. Any potentially libellous stuff gets removed out. So any sports journalism students or former journalists are welcome to put names forward. Word-press experience preferred, but I am sure you could pick it up.
--------------------------------------------------------------
<yikes.......better not be Liverpool fans they will ban us all..........
Can we link our accounts?

In the Meet the Team some have chose to link to the ja606 account. But there will be no programatic account linking since the sites are two totally separate beasts.

Serious question now Admin
How about a system where it tells us why our posts are banned or why banned from other boards and instead of a life ban we get a month or 2 and then a 3 strike rule which will lead to a year and then a life ban after that.........It is frustrating that we need to email you asking why we were banned or why our article was removed when we could have a section on each members site to show reason....
P.S This is also another way to ask can you un-ban me from the Liverpool board ??? its been 3 years now........

No thank. It all looks a bit too messy for me and will, i feel, end up giving too many contrbutors, ideas of self importance, way above their station. An elite clique will emerge which will undoubtedly have a detrimental effect on ja606.
I should like to hear your views on my points please,Admin.
Thank you.

I strong and without foundation disagree to all your points.

Fack me,Admin 1 is Maf

Serious comment:
I spend a lot of time on this site, way more than my occasional posts suggest, and I like the look of it as it's simple.
But the look of the new site is very (please don't hate me) amateurish. If I didn't know about the new site from being on ja606, I wouldn't trust it to be worth looking at and would click off pretty quick. Especially with the adverts at the top (tho I know why you need adverts). Looks a but like those fake sites that you get when you mistype the url of a normal site.
This isn't a wind up / criticism, just a suggestion. Any way you can make it all look a bit more polished?
Good luck with it all tho, it's a decent idea
How about we stick to Jalob and not board bannings?.....

Assume articles have been removed because someone complained. We prefer indefinite board bans as it it saves us having to ban huys like Maf and Sandy 6 or so times a year from boards or watching slowly as each article(which might get a complaint or two) pushes the boundary that bit more and a bit more each time until eventually bam, board ban.
Any plans on allowing posters to post images, .gifs, etc?
Just have one more thing to say before I have to go back to doing boring work, JA606 is the best football forum out there since BBC606............
Just one question:
What happens to ja606, would it be taken down?

The site is based on the old style stacked layouts that used to be around before people went to magazine format, which i really cant stand. We wanted to make it easy to hop on and see what was fresh and new, with no rotating widgets and slug-lines etc. I appreciate it is a bit of a throw back.
Admins what is the best way to get your attention.
Some stupid articles get multi boarded with onw request and I cant get hold of you for anything

Decent fairly board non team specific article and a complaint buy the OP about their own article and we will normally multi-board.
Will you do the interviews as well with the PL players for your new site.
