Its a cycle with media organisations. Build them up and then knock them down. Our comprehensive beat down of Spurs was a bump on the road. It suits them to ignore it as if it didn't happen. So everything is super super glorious for Spurs.

Well yeah, we're into then next round of the CL and above you in the league
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Interesting how Wenger was sacked for 'just qualifying for the champions league and always getting to knock out stages'. So what wasn't good enough for us is considered the pinnacle of achievement for you?

I'd be mightily angry to be patronised like that.

Not sure he knows what "patronised" means tbh J

Could be worse, could be celebrating being above our rivals on GD for 72 hours

That's not the worst that could happen. How about not winning a major trophy since before you were born

Not sure where all this cockiness comes from? Didn't Spurs draw at the Camp Nou and rely on Inter ballsing it up against a Dutch minnow? I can imagine Spurs going out of the CL in the next round, faltering for the top 4 and losing their manager to Man Utd. Far more likely scenario than anything else.

We shouldn't take chances with any first teamer tomorrow. Dead game. Play the kids and let them handle Carrybag FC

A few minutes for Özil would be good ahead of Southampton.

You don't need minutes against a dead side in a dead stage of the competition. I'd bet training will be more of a intensive effort than a few mins vs Carrybag.

So its going to be Kos and Monreal against Southampton. Maybe even Lich, Kos and Monreal. Not looking forward to that.

Never looking forward to that away game against Southampton.

Expecting to give S'ton a hiding. They've got a great manager in Hasenhuettl but they'll be garbage until he can organise the team properly.

Regardless of the defence, we need creativity up-front.
One of Ramsey or Ozil has to play. Guendo is too young to be the linked between attack and defence

yeah but he's so good. The trouble with Guen is he's too keen to bomb forwards. Needs to learn to control his runs.

A midfield three of Torreira, Guendouzi and Ozil is very attacking. We should go for the jugular vs Southampton. Would be at least 3 goals in our favour.

Its written in Xhaka's contract that he can't be dropped. Gwen is better but he has one of those normal contracts.

Can only think Emery's natural tendency to be cautious is stopping him from permanently replacing Xhaka with Guendouzi. In many respects the early Wengster was so good. Trusted the players and gave them the confidence to carry on playing their game.

Guendouzi is one of those players you know will go very far if he's given a run of games.

Not just about the players but also the tactics. Don't get me wrong, it is good that he can make changes from the start of the 2nd half and adjust the formation.
But it would be great if occassionnaly, he gets his tactis spot on from start.

He's probably still uncertain of the best team, or like J99 said a few weeks back still getting to terms with the league. But yeah, it's an oddity in stats i'd like to end soon.

Still, positives are he's not afraid to change it whenever it's required.
