Arsenal have been told to sign PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot by Liverpool legend Steve Nicol.

Speaking on ESPN, Nicol said the 24-year-old would be 'ideal' for the Gunners as he nears the end of his PSG contract.

Rabiot has been targeted by a number of clubs on a free transfer this summer, but it is Arsenal who should be swooping for him.

“Adrien Rabiot to the Premier League I think would be a good move for any Premier League team,” said Nicol.

“And I think there’s one team in particular who would benefit – Arsenal.

“He seems ideal for Arsenal.”

But are Arsenal ideal for him? No.

Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba.

The Ligue 1 club are said to be open to selling the 18-year-old Frenchman this summer, but only if an interested club stumps up around €30m and then loans him back for the upcoming season.

Manchester United have also been linked with the young centre-back, but Le10Sport in France claim Arsenal are currently leading the chase.

Spend most of our 'transfer kitty' and not have the player next season?

No, but Lex's posts would have been just up his alley.

Rabiot won't come to AFC. He wants CL footy.

On Bielik, was he not voted MOTM in the final? Surely we could sell him to Charlton?

Of course Charlton would sign him. But so would many better teams.
Why sell, though? He should be part of the first team squad instead of Elneny.

Oh yeah, he was playing midfield there no?

Is he any better than Elneny ?

Whos isn't?

He played both midfield and defence (mainly when they went 3 at the back but also in a 4).
Given how small our squad is, and the fact we have another Europa season, Bielik should at least be given an opportunity in the squad.

Is he gonna be a CB or a midfielder?

Not enough to play a 5-5-0 though.

If we play 3 in midfield then that is a decent number.
Emery plays Xhaka deepest though, not Torreira. Bielik is the most able to play the role Emery wants Xhaka to play in Xhakas absence.

Gwen too

I like him but when he's alongside someone who isn't creative we look pedestrian

According to Arseblog - who apparently watched Charlton in the play-off final - Bielik is pretty good on the ball, but is even slower turning than Xhaka.

I can't comment on this opinion, as I've not seen him play at all this season. However, if this is the case, would it not indicate his best position might be a ball-carrying CB?
