Easy game. Comfortable Eddie
who do you want in the semi's ? I want Brentford
The rearranged Africa Cup of Nations will go ahead as scheduled next month in Cameroon.
As good as Eddie is in these sorts of games, he's been near enough useless against top-flight opposition. If we get any bid in January for him that's £15m+, we should sell. Especially as he only has 6 months left on his contract and has rejected two further contract offers.

The second part of your sentence almost certainly rules out the 15m+ bids (which would be very unlikely under the best of circumstances)
I think we can definitely look to get a fee in the £10m range, which we should also accept. The £15m would depend on the demand for him and how desperate clubs are to sign him, of which I would expect there are a few.
I don't think he's good enough to be an Arsenal player, but he can probably do a job at a lower-midtable PL side.

I think the jury is probably still out on that
I'd be more confident of getting a decent fee if he was on loan showing a bit of form but he's really not done anything of note since returning to us
It's a shame we can't extend his contract by a year or two, just to give us a chance to make some decent cash out of him. Appreciate he's not going to want to sign a new contract on that basis though! He's decent but only as a backup player for us.

Sadly he probably isn't even decent as a back up
He just hasn't really shown enough
Nketiah's third goal was so good
Arteta confirmed that we're pushing hard to try and get Eddie to sign a contract extension, which I don't understand.
Eddie will be 23 by the end of the season and, although that isn't old by any stretch, it does mean he can't really be considered a 'prospect' anymore. He's been in and around the first team for 5 years now, yet he's still not looked any closer to making it as a first-team player.
I really think it's a big mistake if we look to sign him to a long-term deal. He simply isn't at the required level.
He's a goalscorer. If auba is out, i trust him upfront more than Flo.
He has 5 goals in 41 PL appearances. Most of his other goals are against lower league opposition or obscure European teams like Dundalk.
Nearly every single time he's made an appearance against a team half decent, he's looked out of his depth. Can't hold the ball up, link play, retain possession or trap a ball.
If we have to use him, then needs must, but I'd rather we let him leave on a free this Summer than sign him up to a 4/5 year contract.
Why? He won't be on that high a wage, and will be a useful squad member. He's clearly improved over the years aswell.
Eddie is trash ffs. He scored 2 nice goals yesterday but let’s not forget the quality of opposition. They made Pepe look like Henry.
The interviewer saying to Eddie that Arsenal fans are desperate for him to sign. Even Eddie looked at him like wtf are you on about
One thing for sure is we desperately need a striker in January to have any chance of competing for top 4. Relying on Laca would be pure negligence. Auba is gone and Eddie is not cut out for the PL.
Eddie is not trash. But he is a limited box striker. However it is easier to develop a game outside the box than to develop instinct to take chances like he does. Balogun missed a couple yesterday that I bet he is stewing on this morning.
He is trash though. He’s limited to one touch finishes and that’s literally all he has to offer. Giroud was the same with far more to his overall game and got shiiiit from us for years.
Balogun fecked up the headed chance but wouldn’t call the other one a bad miss, the ball from ESR wasn’t great. I’d say he’s more stewing over the fact he was anonymous out on the left while Eddie stole the limelight playing through the middle.
One thing you have to do in Arteta's Arsenal is take your chances.

Giroud's finishing was not good a lot like Lacazette.
Don't knock putting the ball in the net. There are very few players who can slow the game down to do that.
