Alright: Let me explain:

Plan B can have very different connotations. eg I need a striker to replace Jesus. I have a budget.

a) Osimhen b) Toney c) Boniface

I start negotiations with all 3 but only my team knows who I really want. But lets say Osimhen doesn't want to come, or Brentford don't want to sell refers to my plan B or C. Planned preferences.

What you shouldn't do in my opinion is say I want Mudryk and only Mudryk. At that point, you have painted yourself in a corner. Now the Jan window is nearly over and Mudryk is not coming but you are in deep poo in terms of the squad and team.

So then you Plan B, or Plan C is a panic buy. Thats what I was referring to at the time. That Edu/Arteta are not going to leave it till the summer when the opportunity is there to win the title. We have to buy someone!

The collapse happened anyway because Arteta thought Holding was adequate depth to Saliba!

"But now Arsenal have one choice. Buy Mudryk or no one. Paints the club into a corner."

So Trossard WAS plan B?

That Jsplaining is amazing btw. If only he had explained it to himself this time last year...

Ok. My fault. It should have read Mudryk or no one equivalent in our long term planning.

Not what you were saying at all. This is amazing, J99 at his very best.

Trossard was a panic buy. And someone we needed and it worked for a few months. Just like Jorginho.

But I don't think he was a long term scouted target. Do you?

Yes I believe we were in for him before we were in for Mudryk

After Mudryk signed for Chelsea PP literally said we have no plan B, and you argued we did. And when Trossard signed you stated Edu and Arteta always had that lined up.

And Trossard had been linked for a while, Petey was very much begging for it

Mad how J99 has gone from
"But now Arsenal have one choice. Buy Mudryk or no one. Paints the club into a corner."
to
"And as I pointed out above you are underestimating the practical side of Arteta/Edu. Their targets change."

in 3 days

Well yes because at one point I expected Mudryk deal to be completed with the amount of effort they spent on it.

And now with the possibility of winning the league with CIty dropping more points its my thinking, wishful that it maybe that they have something up their sleeve and not miss the opportunity of winning the league.

Thankyou for linking the post showing you said there was always a plan B.

Up their sleeve does not equate to a long term planning.

Sorry it doesn't fit your agenda.

Don't you understand? I even wrote

"And now with the possibility of winning the league with CIty dropping more points its my thinking, wishful that it maybe that they have something up their sleeve"

Thats purely reactive to the results? How is that long term planning?

"We went from Lisandro to Zinchenko, Vlahovic to Osimhen to Jesus. So they do have plan B"

Guess who said this in response to PP saying we have no plan B when Mudryk signed for Chelsea?

posted on 3/1/24

You are making it out it was one post that could be be misrepresented.
You argued for days that Edu and Arteta had a plan B all along.

Aouar to Partey took less than a day. Most competent technical directors are working on multiple deals in the background if one goes belly up.

The plan B was the reactive signing to who was available at the time not a long term plan. I said the same about Jorginho. Do you honestly think that I would refer to Jorginho as a long term plan instead of Caicedo? I stated how we were after Declan Rice was linked a few weeks later who most thought was just clickbait.

I even wrote:

"Well yes because at one point I expected Mudryk deal to be completed with the amount of effort they spent on it."

That tells you the difference between a long term negotiation and a quick fix.

I've always said that if you don't understand my point, I perfectly happy to elaborate. Unlike you, I am mostly definitive in my opinions. And when I get it wrong, I admit it.
