Didn't get a sniff when Odegaard was injured last season eventhough everyone kept saying he was the Odegaard replacement

That was because it was his first season and Arteta wanted to slowly introduce him (give him cup games like Wenger used to with young players). Obviously, he did expect Odegaard to be injured so soon into the season. But by the end of the season that was exactly what he was doing.
