Seasons not even started, but this is terrible. Only silver lining is that in past decade or so, we’d batter teams in pre season and look good but fall apart when season started. Hope opposite this time, init snooks

Havertz felt something in training, will be "a matter of days".

Sounds confident that Calafiori, Havertz and Trossard could feature on Saturday.

Arteta says he plans to use Madueke on both sides.

You need to become a serious attacking side and we drop 50m on madueke. Just not serious.

Last 2 games we have barely created an opening.

It's the big problem with Arteta ball. Regardless of who we buy, if the football style remains the same, which is awful to watch, we will be in for a to 4 battle

I heard Madueke was good when he came on

We will see on Saturday for the first time when Arteta will play with his first eleven at least for one half where we stand.

Think Madueke wasnt bad when he came on.

its more the fact he will be the only winger we sign. Eze SHARTSCREEN concocted by Berta had you all FOOLED

As for Gyokeres, if we continue playing hoof ball, crossing in from the wings, long throws and playing for corners, he will be absolutely redundant in this set up

I don't know what people expected. Arteta is risk averse. We need a creator type CF, someone who drops deep, links well, dribbles and isn't afraid to shoot. It's why I preferred Sesko, too bad he's letting his agent do all his talking.

We lack directness still. Our left wing hardly getting behind the opposition defense or get passed the opponent. Saka on the other side can beat his opponent but his crosses or passed hardly getting to any of the teammates.

If arteta really doesn't change our attacking patterns, I predict he's going to try and get gyokeres to play like havertz, end up getting frustrated and freeze him out. God I hope he does well

My preference was always gyokeres over sesko but I had my doubts on how gyokeres would adapt to Arteta rigid style of play.

I thought it might be the case that Arteta may evolve his style but it's all the same boring patterns of play.

We will get beat at OT by the way

I know Arteta has a more conservative approach but he's still the manager who broke our goal record in a season, the idea that he can't get the best out of a player like Gyokeres (who needs to be running onto through balls) is a bit defeatist

The left side is a whole other issue. Rice isn't good or consistent enough to play there against low blocks all the time. It's only in big games he looks elite there. LB inverting all the time. Martinelli being asked to do too much - defend, hold width but still take the one or two chances he might get per game after being allowed to drift in.

Nothing to do with the left side. You can put any left winger there and it will the same.

It's the same tired tactics. Left back inverting and not overlapping, Rice being wasted as left sided 8.

A few seasons ago but after the humiliation at the Etihad, he has gone done the the ultra defensive mode.

I mean we are now doing the stoke throw inns. The style is too far gone to ever come back and the preseason games reinforce this

Arteta isnt the defensive manager you made of him. It's bollox ffs. We clearly have always more ball possession and control most of the games.

We dont getting into opposite boxes. No directness and slow in the built up is our main problem.

Of course you think we're going to lose. Do you ever predict we'll win a game?
