Even the big money signings didn't do what expected on the tin.

Dont think Andrea Berta did nothing without talking to M. Arteta.

But he did move targets strategically. Got buy in from Arteta, but there was a concerted effort to buy players at the peak of their careers.

I case of VG and Eze it was easy. There was just not any competition. Players first choice.

yeah Edu was a complete tool and didnt know about football negogiations.

I don't think messing up negotiations was his biggest drawback. It was more his obsession with very untried players at exorbitant prices. Glad we missed out on Mudryk. It was Brighton model, but without the bargain buys. I am not surprised Nuno is not happy with his targets. Sambi, Taverez, Fabio Vieira etc.
