It's better than the alternative that you actually think what you're suggesting is in any way a good idea.

Thats the problem. Against teams that have powerful defenders/midfields we need Sanogo to battle. Teams don't clear the ball well and our smaller midfield players can collect the rubbish clearances to initiate counter attacks. If you withdraw and allow 6ft+ physical midfield players to get up steam on the ball, you are going to lose.

Is anyone else's life currently being RUINED by Giroud?

Yes

Rosicky would be CLASS in defensive mid. Miles quicker than Arteta and just as good on the ball, and a better tackler.
