Cuts long monotone promos, gets accused of company favouritism, has had Stephanie on her back. Seems like modern day HHH to me
HHH is the modern day HHH, that's what I was laughing at. He's not firmly in the past, yet.
Although those small similarities don't make for much of a comparison.
And when i said modern day HHH i didn't mean in terms of technicalities of wrestling (e.g. ring style, character gimmick) but in terms of something wrestling seems to blindside constantly. Plot and character continunity. The Orton character is who he is because of HHH, his psychology was moulded through HHH's actions towards him on several occasions..... he wasn't thought up in a board room, he was made within WWE's universe. That's refreshing if nothing else.
Those decisions will have been made in a boardroom.
James Bond was thought up by Ian Fleming. Is the character made who he is through his experience within his universe? Yes....... if he was to magically go from being a secret agent to a sarcastic rapper to a smiling boy scout all instantaneously without a cataylst, is he a product of his universe any longer or just the hasty notions of his creator?
The only thing that the WWE universe ACTUALLY had an effect on was his face turn post-legacy where he was supposed to remain heel and Ted and Cody were to be the faces.
Other than that, all decisions made on his character progression has been planned in the boardroom. Simply because it's done better than Cena's character doesn't change that.
When i say WWE universe i'm not talking about it's fans, i'm revering to it's existence as a subjective reality (i hate WWE's "universe" branding concept).
The Orton character is consistent is what i'm saying, technically his actions are all controlled by his creator but those actions convincingly exist within his universe's paradigm, something i wish WWE had more respect for in general.
If anyone else watches raw again, notice BIG E accidently whack AJ on the way to the ring

That must have hurt her.
Great raw. Crowd and booking was great.
Notice how there was hardly any kids in audience. It was like a large Hammerstein Ballroom
I dunno if anyone else picked up the tone in the chanting was akin to the European football crowd drone? Thought that was interesting, in the same way the 'Lets Go Cena' chants are always noticeably higher pitched than the 'Cena sucks' chants
But on the whole, it just want to show how wrestling always has the failsafe of a great crowd and/or commentary making up for almost anything. That raw could've consisted of two jobbers competing in a 3 hour ironman match and it wouldn't have been bored
Easy solution. Ban kids from attending and cheap beer = Rocking Raw
That crowd was evidence of a fanbase disoriented with the current product.
Orton and Sheamus must have wanted the ring to swallow them up
