Little tongue in cheek intended above.... ultimately the championship winner deserves it because he and the 400 people behind him have done a better job. Doesn't mean they're a better driver to have won 3 not 1, demonstrates that RBR have been fantastic and Vettel has capitalised.

So many people said Jenson was mad to go to mclaren but he showed very well against lewis and both could have been 2 x WDC, admittedly lewis was more likely last year.

There may be some punishments on the way for potentially Seb and Kimi for using DRS under yellow flags. JB as well

Exactly Van Persie, Seb has won 3 world titles in a car that was the best for most of that time. If he can step out of that comfort zone and do similar, somewhere else, I'll be the first to bow down and worship him

It will be interesting to see what punishments given... 25sec would be harsh as you wouldnt lose that in a drive through, which I believe would be the standard drs under yellows punishment

Maybe a grid penalty for the next race.

It's a safety issue so you never know, the FIA tend to hand out draconian punishments when it's associated with safety.

I can understand why people want him to leave RBR. I don't think that he will though. In a way you could compare his situation to Messi, yet nobody argues against Messi.

Manu - When was the last time a wdc left their team in order to go to a less competitive team for the purporses of proving that they could win in any car ? Is there any instance of that happening in the history of the sport ?

Do you think Schumacher's legacy is tarnished because he did not leave Ferrari after 3 titles, to drive for say Williams ?

Schumacher did it

Alonso is doing it

Hamilton is doing it

Villenevue did it

Kimi is doing it

Hill did it

Senna did it

Just recent examples, I can provide more if you want me to

True, and it will even up things slightly given Webber is also under investigation so couldn't serve during the race. He had one of those weekends again, getting too frequent now, Ricciardo impressed me this weekend, looks more likely than Vergne for next season

none of them did it Manu.

you think hill went to arrows to prove to the world how good he was ? pull the fakin other one.

Hill was forced out of Williams, not quite the same but yes, F1 is littered with examples. Could argue JB did it too given the dog that 2009 McLaren was compared to the Brawn!

Schumi left Benneton to join Ferrari who hadn't won a championship forever and a day after winning 2 championships

They all did it. These are facts

Alonso put himself in a bad position in 2008. He then went from Renault to Ferrari, who were more competetive at the time.

JPB, Schumacher and Alonso are unquestionable examples, particularly MS from Benneton to Ferrari

no driver has ever left a top team to driver for a lesser team because he wanted to see if he could win in a worse car.

It has never happened once in the history of F1.

The Hill one is a bit tenuous but the rest are valid. I could go back even further to provide you with more evidence but I'm sure you will dispute it because you think I'm trying to put Vettel down.

I'm not doing that

posted on 14/4/13

Hamilton just did that, where have you been?

posted on 14/4/13

Hamilton did not leave McLaren because he thought the McLaren was too good.

He left McLaren because he thought another team offered him a better future.

posted on 14/4/13

Even Coulthard, a redbull fan has suggested the only way Seb will be considered great is if he leaves RedBull.

posted on 14/4/13

I think that Hamilton just wanted to get out of McLaren.

Hamilton has said he wanted a new challenge, what is a new challenge to a race car driver?

Alonso's move isn't unquestionable. I'm pretty sure that he signed for McLaren at the end of 2005. The year where McLaren had created an absolute bullet. It was just unreliable.

posted on 14/4/13

That car was immense, shame it was so unreliable and randomly exploded

to me the reasons why so many people disregard vettell's ability are :

1. he is ugly
2. he is german
3. his team is owned by a soft drink manufacturer

it's nothing to do with him as a driver.
