Modric back on the radar since his goal against us then? I'm sure there are better options than Modric. Personally I never rated him that highly at Spurs. I'd prefer a Fellainin type to combat the 'Yaya/Dembele effect' to which we seem so susceptible!
This Lewandowski rumour refuses to die, but I hope for our sake it is just rumour. Do we even need another striker?
Bale and Ronaldo go without saying, but are they honestly realistic targets?
Garay? Haven't seen enough of him but heard good things.
Rodriguez. Well we definitely need a new winger. Such a shame we missed out on Lucas Moura; he looks the real deal at PSG.
At the very least I hope we have/will enquire about Gundogan from Dortmund. Whether he'll be willing to join is another matter, but he really is the ideal man for our midfield.
Is there any realism? Or just the biggest name imaginable? Because in that case it should me messi.
Gundogan would be a good signing. Then again, if we are raiding Dortmund again lets go for Gotze and Hummels too
A combative midfielder and a top class radar should be prioritised. Followed by maybe a long term replacement for Carrick.
We're more likely to sign three strikers and a centre back, though.
Radar?
*Winger. Wtf autocorrect?

I like your thinking TSW.
It should help us find some good talent.
I can see bale going to madrid.

Could link up well with 'SatNav' Scholes.
Think we will sign:
Garay
Wanyama
Rodriguez
Out:
Nani
Anderson
Scholes
Lindegard
Rooney?
Arab
Why do you think we will sign those players? I know we have been linked to all of them but is there anything concrete to back the stories up?
Bale to Madrid
Ronaldo to United
its obvious
Vrf, what do you make of garay? Not as good as what we have if you ask me.
Don't know much about Garay, but a new CB is the last thing we need. We have 5 very good ones already.
Garay looked solid in the two legs I saw of him in the Europa, he doesn't suit a high line at all which Benfica play at home so he'd suit us since we usually play deep
If Rio is leaving this summer then I think a CB would be needed
Messi and Ronaldo should both be a priority for me this summer.
Would that mean no Ozil, Benzema and Sneidjer then?
Is Falcao at Carrington yet?
i'm sure Falcao is absolutely creaming with excitement at the thought of being supplied goal scoring chances by Valencia, and a striker playing out of position whose final ball matches the composure of his finishing.
similarly i'm sure Rodriguez is sitting watching a 60+cap Portuguese winger and the previous years German footballer of the year sitting on the bench constantly while ridiculously out of form players get played ahead of them.... and not thinking the same would happen to him.
pretty sure no potential midfield targets would see how Cleverley (despite being in decent form for most of the season and playing in every England WC game so far) gets dropped for a centre half and a 40 year old winger come the business end of the season as Fergie seems to have gone ultra cautious and have no concerns at all about signing.
Fergies will to win and determination have driven the side this year... probably to a title win.... i just fear some of the team selections, tactics, sidelining of any sort of flair players just may have longer lasting negative effects

Very good post. I completely agree.

If Rio leaves we do not need another centre half. Evans - more experienced and better than Garay - and Vidic would be our first choice and Smalling and Jones would finally have the opportunity to get some proper game time together in our cup games and act as excellent back up.
4 centre backs is more than enough. These 4 with Michael Keane to be recalled when out on loan if there was an unlikely crisis is fine.
Needed: 4 midfielders
We get: 4 strikers.
