I think you will be right maybe add Hamilton as the Merc does look good.

i dont honestly think lewis has the ability to mount a serious title challenge unless he has a car that is streets in front of the rest ,

hamilton is clearly a decent qualifier but in the race i still believe he lacks the in car intelligence and tyre finesse to be able to compete with alonso and vettel and maybe kimi raikk in equal equipment to mount a title challenge --

I think Button can throw his hat into the ring too. He may have had a bad start to the year but he's putting in some solid drives in a McLaren that's improving all the time.

I guess that's why he won a world championship ahead of them all and matched Alonson in the same car in his rookie year.

I wonder why I even bother

you could be right t and u ,
button is revelling in his position as team leader at mclaren however i fear that by the time mclaren sort out there problems the likes of vettel and alonso will have an uncatchable lead in the WDC for button to reign in --

must admit i got it wrong as i thought mclaren were going to create a competitive car right from the word go that would be built around button
---- little did any of us think that the mclaren would behave like something the cat dragged in --

And I think you're wrong about Hamilton.

There were plenty of races last year he very easily could've won were it not for major car errors.

Take that into account and pair it with the fact that he's now in a much more relaxed environment at Mercedes and I think he's in with a real shout.

I do not believe Hamilton will win the world title in this merc as it's not there yet consistently. He is however outperforming the car and should be applauded.

If you think his performance today was mediocre, I worry for you.

To also suggest Hamilton is only good at qualifying is also dishonest.

Alonso rates him highly as do most experts and pundits so forgive me for laughing at your ill informed, dishonest, opinion.

T and U, my worry for the McLaren is that even when JB is up for it, his team will let him down and his team mate isn't up to scratch. If he can stay in touching distance I expect him to be up there.

For now though, it's a 3 horse race and the smart money is on Alonso. He has the car now and ferrari are a consistent team.

Kimi is also a dark horse. The worry of course is that Newey will soon bolt something on to Sebs car and he'll be gone again

what has 2008 got to do with anything manx when the tyres were the coffin nail hard durable bridgestones that the drivers could rag to within an inch of there lives as they new they were going to get a new set every time they came in for new fuel -

completely different fuel and tyre format back in 2008 than it is since the fuel stops ended and pirelli came into the sport -

the more intelligent driver is allways going to make more of this format as the season unfolds
------ fraid to say i dont believe hamilton is one of those drivers that can mount a serious title challenge under the current format unless he has a big car advantage as he did last year
--------- and the first 3 races of 2013 have done nothing to change my mind

you could be right about hamilton , lets not forget he had the quickest car last year and would have been there right at the death but for bad luck ,

however so far in the first 3 races this year now he has relatively comparable equipment to alonso and vettel he is doing nothing spectacular in the races themselves that suggests to me that he is not capable of mounting a serious title challenge to the real savvy drivers alonso and vettel --

there comes a time when the excuses have to stop for hamilton , and from what i have seen the mercedes has been a very good car from day 1 this year -

afraid to say in the races for me hamilton is just lacking something in ability that vettel and alonso and to a certain extent kimi raikk have in the current tyre and fuel format -

Last season McLaren didn't have the fastest car at all, Red Bull did. This Mercedes isn't anywhere near as fast in race pace as the Red Bull, Ferrari and Lotus and that is the only reason Lewis won't challenge for the title. He comfortably beat his team-mate today around a track Nico is notorious for performing at. To suggest it was a "mediocre" drive is silly.

It' s funny you think the merc has been good from day 1.

The same merc that finished 45 seconds behind Kimi in race 1. To show how inferior it is, he was unable to do anything against a Lotus that had front wing damage.

You despise hamilton and that's fine, don't pretend or try to dress it up as anything else.

Like I said, your opinion is just that, your opinion, the facts and reality suggest otherwise, including his 20m pound pay packet or are you suggesting the people who run Mercedes are stupid?

This obsession of yours is really unhealthy

cant agree with you 2012 aristo , red bull were severely effected by the blown diffuser / flexi wing rule changes last year as the rb8 was built around those very things and effectively had to change there car as the season unfolded and never became competitive with mclaren until singapore even then i have my doubts if it was a real match for mclaren

as i said this year the mercedes has been a good car from race 1 easily comparable with anything else on the track in terms of performance and for me the excuses for hamilton every time he gets beat in a race lack any real credibility -

posted on 14/4/13

The merc comparable with the redbulls and the ferraris and the lotuses

This guy is a comedian. What next, the marussia is on par with the mclarens

yes manx i believe the mercedes has been a good car from day 1 , and yes i also believe that kimi raikk , vettel and alonso in equal equipment under the current tyre and fuel regulations are better race drivers than hamilton -

----- and yes i believe hamilton is not the sharpest most intelligent driver with masterful tyre finesse that has ever sat in a race car

---- and yes i believe these shortcomings will hurt hamilton compared to the real savvy drivers like alonso and vettel in race conditions in equal machinery -

sorry if that hurts your hamilton infatuation but that is my opinion and so far this season i am being proved correct

posted on 14/4/13

You are entitled to your opinion my good man.

The facts and reality suggest otherwise. Keep it up though, your comments are hurting people like me who are infatuated by hamilton.

Please stop hurting our lewis

yes manx --- the mercedes i believe is comparable with red bull , lotus and ferrari

as i said the excuses race after race after race for hamilton every single time he is beaten in a race no longer carry any credibility as far as i am concerned -
--------- get over it

You want to compare races with the Red Bull and McLaren?
Australia - McLaren
Malaysia - McLaren
China - McLaren
Bahrain - Red Bull
Spain - McLaren
Monaco - Red Bull
Canada - Red Bull
Europe - Red Bull
GB - Red Bull
Germany - Red Bull
Hungary - McLaren
Belgium - McLaren
Italy - McLaren
Singapore - McLaren
Japan - Red Bull
Korea - Red Bull
India - Red Bull
Abu Dhabi - Red Bull
US - Red Bull
Brazil - McLaren

So that is 11-9 in favour of Red Bull. Dispute any of those races if you like.

As for this year, you either are not watching or only seeing what you want to see. FOM timings help to see the bigger picture of races. I suspect you think the Red Bull was weaker today than Merc based on the fact Vettel finished behind Lewis. This was only because of one guy, Nico Hulkenberg.
Red Bull, Lotus and Ferrari as it stands are the best cars on the grid.

Thanks for bringing me round, what have I been thinking all these years;

The Mercedes is the fastest car on the grid by 2 seconds per lap

Hamilton is a one season wonder who is a useless driver who fluked a world title

Hamilton is also clearly stupid as he can't drive an f1 car

Woe is me, what is I gonna do

posted on 14/4/13

Mate, Hamilton beat the f1 supremo Vettel in the US. Vettels car had a fault otherwise the idiotic hamilton wouldn't have

posted on 14/4/13

In 2011, Vettel's car was the slowest on the grid and he won the championship whilst Hamilton had the fastest car and was crashing into everyone.

He's no better than Karun Chandok

posted on 14/4/13

I was just stating which car was fastest between the two at each weekend. Not who won these races.

posted on 14/4/13

Aristodemus, my apologies. The mclaren was the fastest car on the grid the whole of last season. What were you watching
