"Why bring up the Defoe incident, every one knows the FA couldn't deal with it cos the ref gave him a yellow card.
If the ref had given Suarez a yellow for the bite he never would of got a 10 match ban"

Because if The FA wanted to take a hard line, on players biting, and set an example. They would have deemed the Defoe incident 'exceptional' and over ruled the ref. Was biting an opponent acceptable then, but not now? No. It's a despicable act regardless of who did it. They chose to hide behind their rules in one case, which have been over ridden in other examples. And dole out an over the top punishment in another.

What kind of ref would give a 10-match ban incident yellow card? He should be prosecuted for his failings if FA are impartial?

Thudd using his iphone to chat one JA606..sad really.

Yeah, Defoe should ban himself from football after biting incident..

Defoe had a little nibble, Suarez just grabbed him and went for a proper chomp, refused to get off and stop till he got a mouthful.

With Suarez, perhaps he needs such a big ban to wake him up. It's his second biting incident in about 3yrs and that simply isn't the actions of a balanced individual. Maybe the time off will let him reflect and get all the help he can. I hear having the testes removed helps with dogs, maybe that's an option?

The big Evra ban he got beforehand probably didn't register with him as he got indulged and told he was the victim by his employers.

we are now talking about the severity of a bite...

I think its great the way you and the FA can makes the difference between a nibble and a full bite...

Surely with all this outrage ... a bite is a bite .. what do you get for for just resting your teeth on someone??

Nibble? He grabbed Mascherano's arm whilst he was on the floor ffs..

Even a 6-year old don't do that..

Oh, so there's different levels of biting now is there? I suppose it's irrelevant that the Defoe and Suarez bite had the same result - no injury...

You've seen Suarez's teeth - of course it's going to be worse

Is that like "Weare" comments being just a "little bit" racist?

The intent was there from both Defoe and Suarez.. Just the FA's stupid rule of not intervening if the referee deals with it on the pitch meant Defoe got away. The FA should be disbanded immediately.

Everyone knows that the FA are toothless and discriminate against foreign players, but are favourable to players who are English or even more favourable to players who have played for England. The best example of this is the length of bans that both J.Terry got compared to the ban that L. Suarez. If they were both guilty of the same offence why didn't they get the same length of ban. why was JT given a lesser game ban that L. Suarez. This alone goes to show that the FA are biasied

Maybe they felt they shouldnt punish Terry as much as Suarez as the courts found John Terry not guilty. Who know's how they figure out the length of the ban.

And that's a nibble? It actually looks worse than the Suarez bite. Defoe has taken up the stance of a rabid dog.

Probably more to do with the fact Terry never admitted to using it in that context and was given a ban on balance of probabilities.

Suarez readily admitted what he said, he just tried to use Uruguayan collochialism as an excuse

We all know the FA are clueless, but rather than berate them I think we should applaud them for actually doing the right thing for once.

=================================

I agree, but would they have done the right thing if it was Scott Parker for example?

I know it's his own fault for biting people, and I don't disagree with a long ban, but I simply don't believe they would've dished out the same punishment if it was an England international.

It's all speculation, but we all know what the FA is like. They protect their own, and take the hardline only when they know there's no comeback on them.
