Some proper international cricket at last

Supposed to be a clear sunny day today.

Can't see a cloud in the sky where I am in London. Could turn out to be a very important toss.

I totally blame the mental approach at our captain cook.. Theres no attacking intent what so ever.. Bruce martin 15 overs for 20 runs.. Am sorry this is ridiculas.
NZ bowl wide of the stumps.. England wait wait wait for the right ball. SAME thing happend in NZ.. wait wiat wait.

Afridi England should have bowled first.. There has been zefor effort from England to move this game along.. ZERO..

I think we were right to bat first, this is not a bad pitch at all, we've just not got it right yet, but credit to NZ they have bowled very very well. But our approach has not been good, win the toss and bat on this pitch but bat with intent or you loose the advantage.

Read my thread.. I said NZ would bowl first no matter what..Before the game.. England has per-usual are mecanical mentally.. All done in order. If England dont get a move on with their scoring rate.. and the weather forecast as it is.. There is absolutly no way will they force a result. That will be 4 games agaisnt the 8th test team in the world they have failed to win.

Cook/Compto/Trott has your top 3?..Compton may have scored 2 100s in NZ... But that was purely patient knocks.. NZ bowl wide of the stumps and full. Our body movement is defensive and wait wait wait..NZ are happy with how we approach games against them..Going back to Compton he doesnt look international level. and has flaws in his game.. We should. Move Trott upto opening bring bell in at 3.. Thats his best position.. Root at 4 and put KP at 5.. Back in his best position to. Otherwise our top 3 is to static..

If you want to change Compton at the top, why pick another guy who doesn't open over Root who's a natural opener.
As sky are showing, this pitch is going to turn at the match goes on, whoever bat lasts should hope its a very small target.

Bearded, Lords is known to get flat day 4 and 5 with no turn or swing. This all depends on how England bowl to see if they can get them out cheap.

Not this season kash. If Williamson is getting bite from the foot marks after 60 overs swann will be licking his lips.

posted on 16/5/13

Trott would get you 100s batting at the top.Hes that kind of guy. I want KP batting in between the two youngsters.. I don't like out battingt line up as it his now.

posted on 16/5/13

kash, when England bowl they will bowl far to short.. Anderson wil be the only threat.. The 2 other will try and intimidate the Kiwis. On a slow track. So repeating what happend in Newzealand.

posted on 16/5/13

exactly what i said has come to fruition. Root needs to open. Compton slows things down too much. Damage done now, we may lose this

posted on 16/5/13

Trott gets 100's at 3, as he's done all through his career. If and when Compton moves on Root should and I guess will replace him.

posted on 16/5/13

whoelse atleast you have Swann this time and he should make the difference.

posted on 16/5/13

Its far to much to ask a youmng man to open in an ashes series.. Who asnt actually scored any notiable runs IE an 100 yet. Yes Root has talent. Does not mean he will do a good job opening in the ashes does it?

posted on 16/5/13

Nope it doesn't. And given trott has built his career at 3 with great success doesn't mean he will do well opening in the ashes when not used to it. I'd back a natural opener over trott to open.
