I agree on that. if we lose another 2/3 sessions to this game. Unless 1 team colaspses like NZ did at lords. They will not be a result.

England will bat tomorrow no matter what. even if NZ win the toss they'll put England in ,what with having 4 seamers. The weather is suppose to be alot better. I hope England score quicker than they did at Lords in the first innings.

Great way to go into Lunch !

It's so unlike England to bat so slow in England. Even when Strauss was in the side and he's not a high tempo player himself England still managed to get 3.5 runs per over.

Trott as been leaving dozens of deliveries like that. Guess he even bored himself.. Bell had better preform for a change. Because he is annoying me most of all .Apart from Compton who isn't a test player..

Yet another good session for NZ. Silly from someone like Trott. Put ourselves under real pressure after lunch, well played NZ. They build a bit of pressure and wait.

I'm enjoying it, a real battle of test cricket. Been a good contest.

Exactly my thoughts Bw, this is a good contest between bat and ball.

If anyone gets bored with it they can always tune in to the IPL on ITV 4

Its boring as heck. Its just 2 defensive teams doing nothing..

posted on 25/5/13

No way I don't watch that stuff. IPL is for numpties.

You should have been around when the likes of Boycott and Tavare were playing

Those were the days of test cricket Sprinkler !

I don't think these teams are being defensive at all, it's how the games have panned out. England have, up until the two NZ series scored at a good rate and got the game moving, they can't now be defensive having done that for a couple of years because of a slow game here and there. Great battle with an even contest, better than a flat pitch with 500 playing 500 in quick time.

I haven't got over the Atherton batting. No wonder England didn't win much when you go at just over 2 an hour.
If NZ don't collapse there is zero chance of a result in the game. Making the test match obsolete.Sorry for whinging.. But I want England to win every game.. And show more intent to try and achieve it.

Think we all do England, of course, but 4 days is enough time to set a game up and win with no one collapsing. England need a platform here after being pout on the back foot. That's what we're trying to build. If one of these guys got out playing a silly shot when we were up against it they would have been dragged through the mire for it. let them build.

We wont get 4 full days..I would rather England batted quicker and got the runs quicker. then taking time out of the game..

Well i guess it's just a different way of looking at it. We're in an even battle here on a good pitch for test cricket where bat and ball have a chance. If we look to score quickly and collapse that leaves NZ in a good position. Lay a foundation then push on. Weather looks good other than a small chance of a shower on Tuesday.
