Oh no, Compton is looking like hes on his way

Compton's done himself no favours in that innings at all. Was very poor.

I'm amazed you managed to put that full sentence together without a dictionary, well done.

Bighead Botham banging on about how he would have made NZ bat again - and a great record HE had as test captain. played 12, Won zero i believe.

What does Compton actually bring to the team? I'm not a huge fan of cricket so correct me if I'm wrong, but has he done anything to justify his selection?

"What does Compton actually bring to the team?"

Agreed United - he actually could be losing us test matches, his scoring rate is so poor. And he looks nervous ALL the time. Hope that his county form is better to watch but I can't say i am a fan. When KP gets back i feel he will be gone

Good morning.. If England bat till just after lunch..That will get Give them just over 60 overs to get a result.. maybe bad light will come into play also.
Tomorrows forecast is not looking promosing at the moment.. I hope Cook gets the crictism he deserves if England fail to win this game..Should have bowled again yesterday afternoon.

Whilst I totally agree that he's not good enough long-term, and should 100% be dropped once KP is back, he scored back-to-back 100's in New Zealand just a few months back, which has guaranteed his selection for this series - you can't just drop a guy who scored back-to-back 100's!!

We can now though...

If KP's still injured for the Ashes, who would people replace Compton with, or would you leave him in?!

Root to open... Taylor 4, Bell 5, Bairstow 6??

if KP is still injured then Compton still gets in the team - but i would play him down the order I wouldn't drop him. Probably at 4 as you suggest

" hope Cook gets the criticism he deserves if England fail to win this game."

Rubbish. He has won the series easily.

25 hundreds to Cook - WHAT a player!!

England may have taken 4/5 wickets last night and NZ would still be behind this morning. Eng would only have to chase at the minimum of 150..Now a result is less likely. You bowl a team out for 170 and let them off the hook.. The captain needs to be questioned.. For his sake. I hope England win.

Rain forecast all day tomorrow.. England need to get a move on and declare at 420

Welldone Cook you have helped yourself to an 100..

Are England gonna declare?? I can sense Williamson will get a match saving 100

posted on 27/5/13

with the weather and lack of time i can only see a draw.why bat again, cook has costed us this test.we are 446 a head as i write and still not declared;when new zealand do bat they will not try to win because can't so expect dull cricket and slow run rate.

"why bat again, cook has costed us this test...."

Its not over yet! Why whine until you know the result??! We have already won the series anyway.
Declared now, NZ need a miracle or a LOT of rain to save this

won the series anyway so don't see the big deal personally even though I would have preferred Cook to enforce the follow on. Still fancy us to win either way.
