Another fantastic knock today.
Dhawan knock was better. Saw off the new ball and then took the attack to the Aussies.
Good knock from a player that's still work in progress
He'll get even better but is probably the best ODI batsman today . Hope he starts getting similar form in tests
61 ball hundred. Best knock of the game. Out of the 17 hundreds 11 came while chasing. So far this series he averaging 172 with strike rate of 124.63. This guy is something. As I said before he is a prospect for India and Cricket itself. I hope he turns up in test cricket too.
Best ODI batsman now for me. The only thing remains to be seen if he breaks Tendulkars record of most runs and centuries.
Agree Wayne. Ridiculously good player
Think we need to wait until he faces better bowling attacks than the Aussies, and see what he does away from home. For me, Pakistan and Saffers have the best ODI bowling attacks and his averages vs both sides is "average".
Pakistan 36
Saffers 38
On that basis, I don't see what the fuss is about. Very good player no doubt. But plenty of work ahead.
You are probably one of a select few who don't see what the fuss is about, Afridi. Kohli has 11 centuries in chases and won us every one of them. Amla has 11 centuries overall.
Amla averages 35 against Australia. AB averages 28 against England. So your theory doesn't make much sense
And denigrating someone with 17 centuries (you know, more than anyone in the history of ODI cricket in Pakistan barring Saeed Anwar - I presume you are a Pakistan supporter from your name) by calling him a "work in progress" is a stretch
He is an amazing one day player and i can see this carrying over to tests too. His average in tests is also on the rise however India hardly play any test cricket ao it will take abit of time.
Don't know how u can mock the Aussie bowling attack. They actually have quite a good attack bar a quality spinner.
Yeah BOSS...irritates the <shit> out of me that India is not playing more test cricket. Atleast 2 tests against Windies coming up next month
What is the relevance of amla and Aussies and AB and England?
Here we go, what's the obsession with pakistan, again off no relevance at all. He's a quality player and work in progress in my opinion. Off course you have every right to disagree. He will no doubt stretch that centuries run with West Indies around the corner, he can only fave the opposition that's put infront of him.
A few posters above have mentioned that he's the best ODI player at the moment. Again, his style of play and aggressiveness is, but as a matter of fact, stats and facts will tell you that actually Bailey is the topping the lot and has scored more than Kholi this year having played 6 games less. You know that bailey, that you have conveniently not even bothered to applaud for his sensational performance today alongside Kholi brilliance today.... But why let facts get in the way of a story?
See, most cricket fans applaud any class cricketer and player regardless of nationality and don't just create articles when one of their "own" does something brilliant.
Kohli is not even India's best batsman. Dhoni is India's best.
Kohli is a very good player but these tracks are a joke. The likes AB and Amla produce big score on bouncy tracks, green tracks, spinning tracks and flat tracks. Kohli needs to produce this too.
"What is the relevance of amla and Aussies and AB and England? "
The relevance is obvious, considering you were pointing out Kohli's average against certain teams.
There is absolutely no obsession with Pakistan. When a batsman has scored more ODI centuries than any player (barring one) representing an entire country, which is known for the ridiculous amount of talent in the cricketers it produces (batting or bowling), it is extremely strange to nto see what the fuss is about.
Have absolutely no idea how Bailey comes into the picture. Do you think people are judging Kohli based on 4 games? Or just performances this year?
Your paragraph is completely irrelevant so I am goign to ignore that
Dhoni is hardly India's best batsman. Mentally he is the strongest though. Technically he isn't even top 5
On a side note Bailey has been very unlucky not to score more than 1 ton. Two scores on the 90 for the poor lad.
Boss,
I'm not knocking Aussies bowling attack, just saying Pakistan and Saffers is better in ODI format. The facts are that there have been HUGE HUGE scores this series, but go back last year and you'll see the following scores for India vs pakistan, with Pakistan restricting the hosts to ;
227
165
167
Junaid tormented Kholi all series, and the poor guy can't even get into the ODI team now.
Kholi is very good. Agreed. But plenty for him to do yet... That's all I'm saying.
Afridi I do agree that plenty for him to do
And i do want to see more India vs Pakistan matches!!!!
Don't think I wana see much of Pakistan after today's shenanigans
One bad patch against a team does not make him "weak" against that team. Do you need reminding of his 183 against Pakistan?
Oh my goodness Pakistan have lost
I am in shock and hysterical at the same time. How on earth?
I genuinely can't believe Pakistan lost that.

Take a bow, Kohli!
