Have you seen how the BCCI made SA cancel a test in Newlands? Newlands is one of the most bowler friendly wicket is cricket but the BCCI don't want there batsman exposed on that wicket.
Not sure why people are bringing Pakistans results into this? . We know they can't bat to save their life's.... We know their bowlers are the best in the world and restricted India to below 200 last year and Saffers yesterday..... Even if Pakistan were out for 10 yesterday, how does that effect Kholis stats???
Exactly kash, was listening to Nasser Hussein interview yesterday saying the same thing. People will judge kohli in stats by context and circumstances in my opinion. The BCCI deserve a huge amount of credit for Kholis brilliance and entertaining the Indian crowd on he pitches..... Similarly, the Indian bowlers deserve a huge amount of credit for giving kohli the opportunity to chase dibs big total after conceding 300+ regularly.

Same hype around Amir. Before he got caught.
Think every team is guilty of it.
Kohli is a cracking prospect
For a 17/18 year old he was worth the hype but no one said he was the finished article. Kohli is at the age where is he is the finished article so let's see how he does in England next year.
Neon,
How many ODIS you got vs West Indies next month?
@ Kash.
Cook has opened up all his career, Sachin started at 6. So an opener has more chance of getting to 7k quicker
Cook has also played most of his cricket on difficult seaming tracks in England. One of the hardest places to play as an opener is in England and he has done very well apart from the series against Pakistan (Asif & Amir)
Yet he only average 38 in the subcontinent.
I think England batsman play well at home, as do India's.
Flat pitches, there are some, but also many turning pitches I'm India.
There are some exceptional batting tracks in England too.
Kohli Will still improve, but he is a good batsman for his age, and in a cricket mad nation, the hype will follow.
Take Rooney, in England, for example. At a young age he was surrounded by hype, way too much. He turned into a good player, but never met, and probably had little chance, to live up to the hype.
Happens everywhere.
Cooks average in sub cont is 44

Kohli achievements so far seem adequate enough to consider him for the status of ODI GOAT.
Scary that he is still in the first half of his career.
