Chelsea didn’t really create any good chances. Long range strikes that hit the post aren’t good chances. But neither did Barca other than the Paulinho one. Was poor quality from a creative point. Barca excelled in dominating the ball, Chelsea excelled in cancelling that out. Terrible game.

Were Willian's shots even "chances" really?

Really didn’t see any of these chances Chelsea created.

The best chances in the game were the Paulinho header and Messi’s goal.

Willian hit some good long range shots and Rudiger had a header from a set piece that was a reasonable chance.

That’s it.

thought the header he got up for he should have scored, i'd have expected hazard to atleast hit the target 16 yards out and his shot from edge of the box was a good chance for him too. Add to that the counter opportunities, the goal, the two willian shots, we had the better of the goalscoring chances

I don’t think any of those were good chances. Chelsea racking up their counter opportunities showed their lack of quality in attack. They looked more likely to create chances than Barca but ultimately didn’t. I didn’t see anything from Chelsea that made me think ‘yeah he really should have scored there’.

Barca were even more toothless but Chelsea’s defensive set up was a big reason for that. Chelsea could have found themselves in a better position had they had more composure in attack, not sure you could say that for Barca, so they’ll feel worse off of the two for sure.

Hazard being pretty ineffective didn’t help. He was wasted in that position. Get that Pedro is better defensively, but Hazard is far better on the left.

Eibar were more threatening against Barca and Getafe far superior defensively. Chelsea bottom 3rd la liga team standard at best

Overall a good performance from CFC, barr the silly mistake to concede which made it a disappointing result. You'd expect Barca to dominate possession, but they didn't really created much with it. CFC looked dangerous on the break. The tie is still open tho. Hopefully Hazard won't be as disappointing as he was today

You don’t think volleying a ball dropping out of the air when you are 18 yards from goal and only have one side of the goal to aim for is a difficult technique?

Not like Hazard is known for his finishing either. Your posts get worse by the day.

I done it on sunday from a corner, but im good at footy. But yeah it wasnt up in the air for long(longer its in the air the harder it is), he got good connection and didnt get his knee over it.

You were obviously pretty poor at footy.

Volleying especially when the ball is dropping out of the air from a good height is widely regarded as one of the hardest techniques in football. It’s why so few are scored. But yeah Nick scored one so Hazard should be smashing that in the top corner.

if you were poor at footy its fine. So few are scored because of defenders heading it clear and the ball mostly played on the floor. Should hit the target from there, wasnt as if it was from a goal kick ffs
