I think teams prefer more organized style of play compared to all attack ! just my opinion. Also lesser known teams have decent defensive abilities compared to their offensive power.

Think this is because there are less really bad teams. Even the worst teams in the competition have organised defences and they play for a point

If it were the England game later, I would agree. But the only people watching Sweden v South Korea at 2pm on a Monday are probably big football fans.

Always tighter first games. Even though some of the scores have been lower, there are only a couple of games that have been a struggle to watch.

Except in 2014, which was a goals fest in the first round of games (and the whole group stages). But generally speaking, you are right.

The comfort is usually that the games will open up as the tournament goes on, but as you said, plenty of the games have been very open. Just terrible finishing.
