He got it wrong from the start IMO. If he wanted to play eriksen on the left with licence to cut in then I'd have gone for a 433 so someone in the midfield can scoot over towards the left side to offer rose more protection.

Always a risk to play 442 against arsenal unless you're a seriously well-drilled team (like atletico Madrid who play a 442 of sorts), didn't really ever look too threatening, easy win in the end which was disappointing.

so far, sherwood seems to have learn from his mistakes.

i trust he will now see that 4 4 2 against top sides who have 3 in midfield leaves us too open especially away from home, and rectify it going forward.

He just showed how nieve he was, had he done his homework and checked Arsenals set up
Pre match he would have known that 3 across the middle was the answer,

Adey just didn't have the stomach for the fight,

It was a bold gamble, but a flawed one too. Have to show respect to your opponents but not too much. We didn't show enough of it and got punished for it.

433, cram the central areas vs arsenal, even more so yesterday when we saw the teamsheet. Wasn't as if they were going to sprint down the wings and send in crosses for Walcott to power headers in like shearer used to do

Dembele, Benteleb and Erikson would have contained Arsenal, TS sticking to his guns. Fair play! But yesterday was a chance to show his tactical diversity
