On modric for me he's the best player I've seen play for us ( mid 90's ) the guy is absolute world class, strong for a little lad too.

Chronic I understand that but with Levy I fail to understand where he's actually taking the club. He's given Sherwood the contract and now apparently wants to bring Van Gaal in. Constant changing and chopping of managers is not going to bring success in my view. Spurs are not Chelsea with your owner setting fire to cash for fun and also you don't have champions league football.

There's not much you can do when the best players demand to leave. I agree with you on the purchases we have made. I would rather have bought players with PL experience. You could see what Levy was doing though, with Utd, Chelsea and City all having new managers it was a chance for us to go for the title and a big squad full of quality players would have done that.

Unfortunately the players that we got in are not good enough yet...The signings have been a let down so far but we are hanging in there.

I said it at the time; it was obvious modric was going, so why did we but our head in the sand and wait around for ages to sign a replacement? Montolivo was available on a free and plays a similar game to modric (deep-lying playmaker). You need that player who can set the tempo and has the short/medium/long range passing - dembele and paulinho don't offer this hence why our football has been poor to watch for about 18 months.

How is it a stupid thing to say? Fabregas is far superior to modric. Both are playmakers but fabregas offers far more goal threat and gets more assists

He either plays as false striker or in centre mid. Even back in his arsenal days he still offered a lot more by way of goals and assists. Both quality but I'd take fabregas all day long

I would pick Fabregas over Modric if given the choice but by a whisker. They are different types of players however in my book and potentially could play well in a 3 with a DM behind them

Modders is a class player, no doubt about that - and wish him well, we couldn't afford a player like him, so we gamble on those who have potental. If the gamble pays off we get a class player for a few years before selling on at a profit when the european giants come knocking.

As for Levy, he has a fair chunk of investment in Spurs, so he cant be sacked or replaced without a takeover (or Joe buys him out) - I think its too easy to criticise him for the signings but he didnt actually scout the players we bought, on the other hand he did employ Baldini. Im struggling to think who could have done better than Levy overall, he is a good chairman. Amongst the chaos of managers coming and going there has always been an underlying steely stability.
