The game really is going soft if people think that was a dirty challenge by Agger.

"Honestly, the guy is
average and an injury jinx, forever dining out on a good game against Barca - most overrated player in the Prem."

Matter of opinion what is considered average but to suggest he's living off a game against Barca is extremely ignorant and revising history. Wilshere had a damn good '10/11 season. He made every media list of team of the year. Was young player of the year in England as well as European versions and Arsenal's player of the year. You think the was because he made some good runs against Barca?

I have no problems about admitting Wilshere's current relative mediocrity but there are those who would have you believe he was never any good. The guy has simply never been the same since he missed 18 months of football. He turned from a feisty player that rides tackles to a very vulnerable one. He's visibly lost a bit of his explosiveness, but the worst has been his general sloppiness in possession. He's a shadow of the player that emerged at 19.

He wasn't even that good against Barca.

He was the best of an average bunch but still pretty average himself.

Comments like dominated Xavi and Iniesta still kill me to this day - just because he was the only player in an Arsenal shirt that could keep the ball.

Yup, totally agree. I'm still hoping we see a Ramsey-esque transformation though from Jack.

Was it the match where the only Arsenal shot at goal was Barca's own goal?

He didn't dominate Xavi and Iniesta, but for a player so young, he played very well considering. I'm sorry, but you're just not being honest if you say otherwise.

Dazza he was. He was playing next to song ffs he had to do two roles.

Sheriff yep that's spot on.

I don't think Wilshere has been helped by the loss of Fabregas either.

Now he's having to drive forward with the ball from deep whereas before him and Fabregas, and to be honest the whole team, could transition forward with short passing much better than they do now.

Really, I didn't know that. My bad. Where can I go debate with teams that have won trophies in the last 9 years?

It was a good tackle not Aggers fault that Wilshire is a little tart.

Samir, yeah considering he was 19, but he was still pretty average.

Barca completely dominated the match. Wilshere retained the ball better than anyone else in your team, that was all.

It's something that is quite hard to do against Barca, of course, but nobody will ever convince me that it was anything other than an above average performance.

But that's not me saying Wilshere was never any good, he was very good that season, just not in that game.

I'm actually surprised Agger wasn't the one that got injured.

Wilshere kicked him pretty hard, and he didn't catch his studs he kicked the side of his foot, and given the position Agger's foot was in I'm surprised it didn't twist his ankle as Wilshere kicked him pretty hard.

It's plain as day, GT.

Wilshere kicked his foot. If you cannot see that you must be blind.

Darren, they haven't been able to see a trophy for 9 years, never mind an incident properly.
