Posts such as this have become all the more frequent OP has basically said what has already been said countless times about Liverpool.

Because they're doing it with Jordan Henderson, Glen Johnson, Jon Flanagan, Simon Mingolet and a number of other players fans of clubs like ours laughed at when the season started and players the likes of you still probably believe Arteta, Giroud, Flamini and Vermaelen are better than.

Europe or not, there isn't a person in the country who thought they'd be anywhere near the top of the table at this point of the season; they deserve every bit of credit they're getting. Did you object to a number of people bumming us for beating cannon fodder at the season's start?

Being bitter about Liverpool's fine league campaign makes nothing but a fool of you.

It makes me smile when I hear Liverpool are not in Europe so that's an advantage.

For the years we have been out of the CL, we have been fishing from pool B in players terms.

The bottom line is we have done far better business than Arsenal in that time and our Academy has produced players able to cut it in the first team.

Coutinho 8m
Mignolet 9m
Sturridge 12m
Sterling 2m
Flanno nothing for example

Put those few players alongside Ozil and you can see why we have over taken you. Over 40 million for a player who has flopped at the part of the season his team needs him most.

How exactly does having less money to spend, not being in the CL benefit us as opposed to Arsenal with more money to spend, in the CL every year work out exactly?

You've spent more money than us, when you were both in the CL and out of it . Playing only 4 cup games all season and no European football is a big advantage, look at the results of all the teams after a European game. Still nobody expected Liverpool to be there so they deserve a lot of praise, Rodgers has been brilliant. I do think this is a season where everything fell into place for them and that this will be the closest they get to the title for a few years.

At this very moment we do have an advantage. We can prepare for every game with a weeks practise and watch the other teams being distracted in midweek.

But we only came to this position by being on the downgrade and all the problems which go with it.
It would have been just as easy to fall away further and sell Suarez to our potential rivals.

But the rest as they say is history.

I don't even see how it's that much of a factor - certainly not enough for you, as a Liverpool fan to have to justify it anyway.

Did anybody, before the season started say to themselves that Liverpool have an advantage in the title race because of their lack of European football? Did anyone even think to claim it as an advantage in their hunt for a top 4 finish? The only reason it's being banded around is that people want to explain away something they're unwilling to pour full credit on when the reality is, as you rightly state - it's not much of an advantage when the pool of players you're having to do it with is one limited by your lack of European involvement.

For me, this is what balances that "advantage" out. Fact is, you're team is doing magnificently and anyone who can't at least acknowledge this in its own right very clearly bitter and doing the achievement a ridiculous disservice.

The lack of European games excuse is not really an excuse at all. People expect us to fall back into midtable when we're back in the CL. Why? Because our squad isn't very big? Well believe it or not, we plan to sign some players this summer. We managed to compete in the CL while qualifying for it through the league consistently just fine a few years ago and I expect us to again.

Very sporting comment and I have huge respect for that. The club has been through some very lean times.

Well said Herbie. Nice to see an Arsenal fan on here who isn't bitter and can see things for how thee actually are.

Win the title or not, Liverpool have had a fantastic season

There is no doubt we will strengthen in the summer. FSG tried to buy Costa, Mkhi and Willian, for big money. One of the reasons they didn't join is because of a lack of CL football. When we have that we will attract players of this ilk, and we have the owners who will pay out for them. On top of that our younger players are a year older and wiser. We've not even seen the likes of Alberto and Ilori this season, they'll feature next year and are both highly rated.

Yet a couple of seasons ago, you wasted 100 million on complete dross whilst we were still in Europe

We got a couple of good players out of that such as Enrique and Henderson, but I take your point. The thing is, we have learned from that. Will you?
