Interesting MOTD made absolutely nothing of the Sturridge one toor...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They didn't in the live game either. They seemed to be of the opinion that the defender got the ball, which he did. Although it was after the foul.

Lol at Liverpool fans getting all smug. Although they were great in the first half, they have cheating to thank for the win today. Stonewall penalty. No questions asked. How is Skrtel gonna sleep tonight?

If the officials had done their job we would have been 3-0 up. At two we should have had a penalty, we didn't get it and Sturridge had to go off because of it as they went up the other end and scored getting them back in the game. The same thing happened at the Etihad. We keep winning though, inspite of officials.

"Stonewall penalty"

penalties that the idiot ref didn't rightly give to Liverpool

we'd have the league wrapped up by now if the refs had done their job

keep telling yourself that pal.

Another one who Liverpool's achievements this season are in spite of the officials. Oh dear. Sorry but this is simply not true. I actually didn't see the penalty appeal that you are talking about so I can't comment on that but I did see Suarez throw himself to the ground after being out-muscled by Kompany. He should have been booked for that.

Push in the back is outmuscled? Well ok, yeah it is, so in your opinion he was outmuscled, which means considerable contact and considering it was in the back, that's a foul, no?

You've walked into this one.

By the same logic, didn't skrtel push Kompany to create the distance between them for the second goal...? I personally think it was a penalty, just suggesting why pushes aren't given sometimes.

I found a replay last night of the Zabaleta challenge last night and I still don't think it is a foul. Zabaletas
body position is in front of Sturridge, it would have been very harsh to give it. He tweaked his hamstring btw as we were scoring, it wasn't the challenge that caused it.

Only by warped logic...

or to put it another way...

No you're talking nonsense.

Kompany had hold of Skrtel and he quite rightly pushed him off.

Totally different from grabbing hold of a player in control of the ball and pushing/pulling him off it.

I have to say Ive found it incredibly tedious trying to debate with the majority of Scousers on here post match...

Wouldn't say it's the majority. Just 2 blinkered fans really who live in their own world.

Yes he did but that's the only way he could get away from him as Kompany pushes and pulls at corners just like Skrtel. Do I agree with pushing and pulling in the box? No. However it happens and referees barely punish it which is why the likes of Skrtel and Kompany do it.

It doesn't matter where his body position was, he fouled before he took the ball. That's a foul. He fouled then hooked the ball away.
