Lucas you're right Brendan said that about stevie no one else, and I don't think many of us agreed with him, although allot of Stevie G haters can't seem to stomach the fact that he's back playing at a really high level and has led us to the title charge

I'll say one thing he's the best captain the PL has to offer england are lucky to have him.

Never does it on anything like the same level for England. No idea if it's managers not setting him the right instructions or the fact he feels less comfortable captaining players he doesn't know as well, but he just doesn't regularly hit his best form/leadership qualities for England. It's bloody annoying, though he's far from the only one.

I always thought he was one of England's better performers but you're right he never reaches the level he did at club level but few players seem to in an England shirt for whatever reason.

If he plays a similar role at the WC for england that he's been playing for Liverpool this season he coudl do well but I'm not sure if Roy will be willing to change his set up and I guess why would he.

Gerrard can't play in a 2 man midfield, never was very good at it anyway even when he was younger and that's why he struggles for England IMO.
