Well that was a strange game.
The officials were diabolical, getting more decisions wrong than right overall.
We probably played better with the ball in midweek, but we looked like we had a lot more cutting edge today which was mainly down to Salah and his incredible movement.
The midfield played better than since Arsenal. Strong performances from Hendo and Can gave us a better shape. Wij was still a bit poor and really has to start playing better in away games or there is no point in playing him.
Coutinho
Moreno had a good game at left back. Gomez had a decent first half but really struggled a bit 2nd half. That may well be fitness after playing midweek. He's not used to it, but with him being banned on Tuesday it made sense to play him today.
Matip and Lovren were a mixed bag. Battling displays, and they weren't helped by the officials at all at any point.
I thought Mig had some very poor moments. Was fouled on the first goal but it was still weak keeping. A great pen save but why the hell did he slide tackle Vardy in the first place when he's a keeper in the box and can use his hands. He was back to panic Mig today, not the more calm figure we saw in the 2nd half of last season.
Leicester really bombarded us at times though and that's not easy to defend against. It was 80's Wimbledon stuff from them. 2nd half we didn't do enough with the ball and could have killed the game better but we got over the line.
A good result and a very important result for morale.
With Spartak missing loads out injured we have a good chance to follow up with another win on Tuesday.
Agree with most of that R1. Salah is some player, i was confident he would do well for us when others were unsure when he signed. Great to have Phil back too.
Defending is unreal though, absolute chaos after 3-1, really couldn't believe what I was watching.
Three points all the same and I said any win will do but feck me this club takes years off my life.

I wouldn't out VVD in January.
I still think we will end up signing him.
I am sure Hoedt who they signed and plays the same side of centre defence was his replacement.
They just wanted to make a stand this summer.
I wouldn't rule out that should be.
R1 agree with you about Kash.
I could have a heart attack by every long ball from Leicester.
I hope Klopp get a quality new gk and cb next year. For me the attack is not the problem as we have scored three today.

Agree with that, don't know why he did go with his hands. Yes he was fouled for the first goal but he was weak in coming for it.

Some guy who was playing the new FIFA game with VVD the other day at the launch said 'See you in Liverpool in January mate' on twitter.
Don't think he's an LFC fan either, might be clutching at straws but who knows. VVD got a bad reception from home fans today too which isn't going to help things.
Lets hope we can get him.
We badly need Clyne back as well. TAA and Gomez are both pretty poor defensively and are out of position so often. The latter had a bit of a horror show at times today.
I think we're missing Clyne as well.

There were some rumours last year with a sextape or something.

Sturridge was excellent today, encouraging to see him close to his best.
Mane will be back in the team on Tuesday certainly, interesting to see who makes way. Important to rotate them to keep everyone fresh.
Yeah Sturridge was good today.
I still don't think Klopp will start him too often, but he's an important option if he can manage to stay fit for the season and will win us some points.
How many goals is Salah going to get for us this season? 6 before the end of September. Bearing in mind that we scored a lot of goals last season but our top scorer only got 14.
Salah could well get 20.
Bitter Billy just posted on the Leicester board that they fell victim of refereeing decisions, who would have thought it?
Sturridge did look as if he had more pace today unlike the previous games. I think Klopp is managing him well with bringing him in the last 30 minutes or starting him in some home games.
