People always mix up my two's and three's also when I'm talking to foreign types. They don't even sound alike. What's the fecking deal with it?

--------------------

no idea. I have a habit now of holding up either two or three fingers when I ask for two of three of something.

And now I have toddlerfrom giving me feckin attitude about the accent.

Wanna go see the Zebras?

Zeeebras Dada.

Zebra.

Zeeebra.

I'm telling you, its still a bloody petrol station, its peanut butter and jam and you wear your pants UNDER your trousers.

Feckin yank babys.

He/She understood faucet but not shower?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In fairness, my accent makes it difficult for yanks to understand.

When i say "shower" it sounds like "shar"

Owl = Oul (rhymes with foul)
Towel = Toul
Vowel = Voul
Mirror = Myrrh (that stuff they gave little baby jesus)

Bizarrely any time I go through a drive through and ask for 2 coffees, they ring me up for 3.

And don;t get me started on the time I needed to buy some batteries.

"You mean, like, trees for bats?"

Worse, my wife always mixes up when I say yes or no. Do you want a coffee? No. She comes with a coffee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your house must be a nightmare.

Will you marry me?

No.

Still get married...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. I think that's how it happened.

They tortured me about 'her' and 'hair' when I was there. Saying I was saying the same thing.

I'm off to Belfast for the weekend on Friday, love it there. Been twice but never on a weekend so can't wait.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I served twice in Northern Ireland in the 90’s. I’ve been back a couple of times, to visit relatives in Omagh and to do surveillance. It was when doing the latter that I saw first hand that there are still plenty of ‘players’ active.

Of course they're still active. They have nothing else to do with their lives. They aren't going to work and have no skills so they need it to make money.

They still terrorise. It's just they confine it to their own communities now.

All being well most of the students still aren't there so it'll not be a pain in the hole.

So, whats your plans? Where are you going? What you doing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Staying in a hostel in the centre, will mostly be drinking and wandering around I guess. It's my mate's birthday and there are three of us going. Any recommendations for pubs? There are a good few there that stick in the memory that I like. Unfortunately the names have gone though!

You'll find the two most welcoming bars are The Royal Bar in Sandy Row and the Red Devil bar on the Falls Road. Lovely places.

Yeah, it’s still terrorism, you just don’t hear about it as much. If they reported everything that still went on, it would give the splinter groups that still harbour hopes of discord, credence in their own minds. Like TOOR said, they know nothing else, and I suspect it’ll take a couple more generations to finally get this mentality completely eradicated.

Been 15 years since I moved away, but on recent trips I've hit up the same palces.

The Duke of York
The Onion
the Spaniard
McHughs
kellys Cellars.
The Woodworkers

Each one offers somethign a little different. Definitely do The Duke of York though

Cheers! Found like a little secret garden thing last time where we went out the back of one pub up a ramp and there was a nice courtyard there with a few bars. Definitely want to go back there, but again I can't remember the name!

Yeah sounds like the Duke of York area.

For football I like the Botanic Inn or The Bot as we call it. It has a beer garden out back with screens and its own bar and even some cubicle type things with their own screen. I watched the CL final there.

Beats me. So many new bars in the city since I moved away.

And TOORs tied to the kitchen sink while his missus is out partying so likely he had no clue either.

Feck off Yank. My missus doesn't drink. Actually she's out tomorrow after work and I'll be at home cooking dinner and collecting whatever my son throws on the floor, before picking her up.
