Something doesn't add up to me

It doesnt need to add up... La Liga is won by (usually) by the team that wins more of "the rest" of the games excluding classico, and now atleti. All of the rest, the 'big 2' nor 'big 3's opponents line up outside the box and wait and might hit on the counter. Its all well and good passing but the 1 thing every person said about barca is that they dont have anyone apart from messi that can create something out of nothing on his own... now (soon) they will have 3

Neymar - Messi - Suarez

Seems to add up to me.

Suarez on the bench

Neymar - Messi - Deulofeu

Neymar is still a kid, he is nowhere near as good as Suarez yet, plus he will be coming to Barca after a World Cup in his home country................that is bound to affect him later on in the season in terms of fatisgue, so it makes perfect sense to have three os them because they won't necessarily play all together.

You're telling me that Neymar will settle for place on the bench after being the star turn at his home World Cup?!?!?! Absolute rubbish.

Looks like a swift move by Barca to eliminate any chance of Real Madrid making a move, who he would suit very nicely. Be interesting if Liverpool made contact with Real to see where they stand. Perhaps the lure of a couple of barca players plus 30-40 mill makes better sense.

Total football. ..those 3 are perfect for it

I don't see a problem.

Suarez will play from the left coming in, Neymar slightly right coming in with Messi a bit deeper behind them.

Rakitic, Busquets, Iniesta in midfield.

Nobody has a clue how Enrique will set out the Barca formation!

Having a team full of superstars may sound great but last time I looked, foootball was a team game and having a team rammed full of egos and star playmakers all wanting the ball and all wanting to be the main man does not always work. Those great players need a few grunts in the team to do the unseen work...doing the doggies, tracking back, making runs for others.

I am not saying it won't work, but it does seem top heavy with stars. Trying to shoe-horn Fabregas into the setup was a 3 year joke. It'll be interesting. Don't think their academy bosses will be too thrilled with the team being packed with expensive imports again.

OP

I said the nsame thing yesterday.

Suarez is a player they just do not need. They have bigger things to address if they want to get back to where they were three years ago, and selling Fabregas wasn't one of them.

Barca had Henry-Eto-Messi. No different to this current iteration.

Of course Suarez is a vanity purchase and one they dont need. Many have argued that for a while now but this is the big two we are talking about. Real and Barca just seem to partake in a lengthy pénis-waving contest with each other.

Either way they are all versatile players who can go wide, deep or central.

Of course ego's will be an issue, but they usually are at the big clubs anyway.

Tbh, I don't think ego is a particularly big issue with Suarez.

He has an exotic assortment of other issues, but I don't think ego is one of them.

Suarez is not irreplaceable. People think that we need to replace him with a 30 goal a season striker.

The reality is, that if we replace him with a 15-20 goal a season striker and our defence tightens up to the point where we concede 10-15 goals less next season, then I don’t see what the problem is.

.............

I don't really think Henry fitted in that well, and neither did Ibra, when he came in to replace Eto.

Yes they all scored goals, but it was hard not to with that midfield behind you.

VC, this Barca team is so Messi-dependent that no striker on the planet would fit in perfectly.

However, Suarez will do fine.

It doesn't add up????

How on earth scoring more goal than your opponent doesn't add up, you score 2 we'll score 3 and all that.

They can willy wave to the tune of 80 million then. No player in the world is worth that much, but if that's the fee Suarez agreed to in his contract, then thats how much Barca will have to pay.

TRC

Yes he will, because he is a top player.

He just needs to be given food before the game.

seems to fit in just fine to me

Suarez is best coming from wider positions

Messi plays in the middle

no idea if Neymar likes wide positions but with Messi there that's already his only option really

I know these three striker are very good, flexible and intelligent footballers...that is not my point. My point is that the team will be top heavy with forward thinking flair players. Add Xavi, Iniesta to the mix and you have half the team wanting the ball and all trying to out do each other.

Picture this: Messi going on a dazzling run beating 3-4 defenders and Suarez offering himself 2-3 times during the run and being ignored. Recipe for disaster in my opinion. You can only have a couple of players that are big personalities in a team. Jeez...Suarez got sulky when Sturridge tried something spectacular. I don't this this is a perfect match up for Suarez...and there will be only one winner. Suarez will be for sale again this time next year as his Barca dream turns into a nightmare.

Sound like sour grapes??? Good...cos it is.
