Lucas, you try qualifying for Europe with Moyes in charge. We had the ultimate handicap last year.

Let's see how we do this year with a proper manager in charge.

but he was the chosen one....slur alex said so

Liverpool won't be signing Vidal. They have clearly opted for quantity over quantity and I doubt that their wage bill could withstand Vidal. Particularly when Brendan will no doubt still want to add another 4 or 5 players at an average of £15 million a pop.

Who needs champign Charlie's anyway, a young vibrant team would be more satisfying for me, buying expensive players is just fast tracking your success.

Barca and Madrid are joke , yes they win stuff but is any surprise when Hoover up all the top players

Or to put into football perspective, we could have finished our season after 32 games and still finished above united
we could have played 34 games and still qualified for europes premier competition

..............

Not much of a perspective lucas.

I mean, shirts for gods sake. Your club is valued less than shirts.

Off topic slightly but I've had this 5 European trophies debate many a time. As a lad who grew up watching Forest I think I'm well qualified to say that any European Cup win before the Champions league isn't worth as much.

The European Cup was far easier to win pre Champions league. Forest won it twice and are the only British team to retain it for crying out loud.

So in real terms I think Liverpool's 5 - 4 of which were pre Champions league - is worth 2 Champions leagues. That means it's 3 each in real terms.

Right you are. Which proves my point. Look at that teams they had to play!

Club Bruges at Wembley!
Borrussia Monchengladbach
Real Madrid when they were rubbish.
Roma - on penalties.

Trust me. The European cup was rubbish before the Champions League.

So United's win in 1968 still counts for one then?

its actually 3 to 2.5 using this new "weighting"...still less

Liverpool have 1 real one and 4 fakes.

United have 2 real ones and 1 fakes.

So, in real terms I'd give Liverpool 3 and United 2.5. And as my Maths teacher always said you should round up, that makes 3 each.

And we win because we have more league titles. Which again mean more because the premier league is far harder to win than the old championship where Liverpool used to win it because they abused the back pass rule.

They were all very good sides in fact TT. You seen the games I take?

I don't deny that's its more difficult to win now but you are indeed talking rubbish. Real Madrid that won a handful of league titles on the spin & appeared in two European finals in the early 80s were poor? Really.

Gladbach mightn't be the side they were nowadays but that was some team in the 70s, would've won it at some point in any other era probably.

There seems a bit of an obsession amongst some to write of our European Cup wins, no-one else's it seems just ours.

We rubbing off Ajax & Bayern Munich's wins whilst we're at it?

Seems strange, even stranger when one of your clubs greatest nights was in the old format.

Vidal is not coming to Liverpool and I doubt he'll be joining United and for the £40m Juve want I certainly wouldn't want Liverpool to go after him.

ah the EPL...same teams, but somehow harder to win

CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP

The back pass rule was implemented in 1992. People say it's the premier league era that stopped the Liverpool bandwagon. But the fact is it was the back pass rule.

If anyone watched Liverpool in the late eighties their tactics were as follows. Get a goal in front then pass it round the back four and back to the keeper to kill the game. This would start from the sixtieth minute sometimes.

I'm guessing we kidnapped the likes of Suarez to get him to play for us

We told you that you wouldn't be able to sign top players whilst you're outside the CL.. Oops
...

You're in the CL, why haven't you signed top players?

Tbf the Liverpool link "might" be coming from the Italians trying to gee United along one way or another. I think if utd were very keen we'd have something far firmer being reported rather than the ridiculous snippets people are hanging on to.

We haven't really tried to sign expensive players apart from Sanchez who went to another CL club and preferred London.
