I don't see why they do. They already have a good enough team to stay in the league, and it's not like they can spend their money either. Near enough every transfer has been justified from them.

Teams with better players than what is remainng at Southampton have been relegated before.

By September, hey're likely going to have lost Lallana, Lambert, Osvaldo, Schneiderlin, Shaw, Chambers, Lovren. At least 5 of those were the core of their squad and others were important subs. And they've also lost their manager who was class.

If they don't make some significant investment, I'd put good money on them to go down.
