He's definitely a good player, bit temperamental though. I've seen a fair bit of him while he was at Palace and while he's great with the ball he keeps it too long and wastes it. He doesn't work hard either. It seems like he's in a position that we're well off in what with Burke, Antonio, Patterson....
While on the surface you'd think he wouldn't drop back down, you never know and it's sometimes worth fishing. Although we've got improved options going forward you only have to look back at last season to realise that having a selection headache (when all are fit) is a good thing.
You have to also remember that some of our wing options can play in a variety of attacking positions.
I don't think he would suit us now we have a decent bunch of midfielders already. Seems strange that we would go for him. I'd of expected someone like Fulham or Cardiff to go for him anyway
Pearce has worked with him before and has already mentioned that he researches the person as well as the footballer somewhat. IF we are actually fishing then I would think he has a plan IF we don actually man age to pull it off.
This would be an interesting one. Having heard LVG say he thinks his best position is through the middle I wonder if this is where SP has in mind for him. Burke is wide right and I think that is Antonio's preferred position, so I am quite happy with what we have for the wide positions (the above-mentioned + Pato and McLaughlin). I would much rather see us bring in a midfield enforcer (such as Leigertwood if he could stay fit). When the going gets tough, Reidy is going to be a target for the opposition and he could do with a minder.
Maybe Lansbury is going then?
With Lansbury and Reid in the side we'd be very difficult to beat.
I don't see Zaha as a Lansbury replacement though do you Webbo? I could see him vying for the LW slot with Pato. Then Burke and Antonio compete for RW. Zaha also can play through the middle. I'd much rather we signed a DM though.
No.. Don't want him. Not good enough for us IMO
There's a lot of talk on Twitter about us loaning out Pato to make room for Zaha - hope that isn't true.
That's bad. Pato is a good player. Another good season from him and the big boys would be sniffing
I wouldn't be happy with that.
Who has that come from SHH?
I've seen people speculating that if we are going for Zaha than Pato is being pushed down pecking order. Then later people responding to rumours he's going. I haven't actually seen the middle bit so I'm guessing it could be 2+2=5 or the fake ITK accounts again
Don't see the point. Waste of money.
Pato was one of our stand out players last season. Really don't want him to go as he was developing into a quality player for us.
I just saw a few people tweeting it, so could be complete bollox. Not seen an official tweet or anything.
Surely Zaha would be a great signing for any championship club.
Stu said that he will sometimes play one up front, well what team wouldn't worry about facing a line up like
........................Vaughan.............
...............Lansbury......Reid......
Burke/Zaha.......................Pato/Antonio - any combo
............................Britt..................................
Personally, I think he is overrated. Don't think we need him and would prefer a DMF

We have enough creative/flair type players imo. If Lansbury leaves as seems possible we need a fit midfield enforcer who can tackle and distribute the ball.
It would be a mistake to assume that Lansbury/Vaughan/Cohen are going to play more than thirty games, plus the other guy on trial Leighterwood? is injury prone as well. This is our Achillies heel imo, stopping a quality opposition from retaining the ball, passing and gaining momentum, that is possibly our only weakness?
I see no need for Zaha, the players we have need to play or be on the bench, no prima donnas thank you!
Surely if we sign him and he gets in the team then it's because he is better than what we have. I don't think SP would play him unless he deserved a first team
Place. He is definitely a quality player, I think if we have a chance to et quality players on loan we need I take it. I am sure SP would know if he has the right attitude or not.
Don't forget Mancienne can play the DM position as well.
We have
Mancienne
Hobbs
Wilson
Lascelles
Laing
Halford
Collins
as CB options,so plenty of cover to play mancienne in MF if needed.
so that gives us
Vaughan
Lansbury
Cohen
Mancienne
and maybe Liegertwood, when fit, who can anchor the MF
I'd say attacking CM is a more important position to cover.

It doesn't feel like a priority to sign him but I think agree with RAE that if we have the opportunity to sign a player if his quality then we should go for it. He was the stand out player in this league two years ago. Man Utd signed him for a reason and although he's barely played since (and didn't do much at Cardiff) he is worth a risk. I trust Pearce to make a call on this one. If he thought Zaha was a big time Charlie then he wouldn't sign him. However, if it's a case of getting Zaha or getting another CM then I'd go for the midfielder.
