Every club has injuries go, if we had replacements as good as the first teamers they'd be screaming for transfers.
wolfgang,
I'm not expecting a bench of superstars but at the moment we don't even appear to have a striker KJ is willing to use from the bench. Clarke isn't good enough (IMO) and lmac not proven or ready yet. and the same in defence, it isn't that we don't have great players waiting behind DB and RS, it is that we have no recognised CBs at all
gb, there's no reason to think that we'll have a bunch of injuries this season. Last season we didn't, so why worry about things that haven't happened yet? Here's a comment from Sky Sports:-
"Wanderers, by contrast, are a settled, well-organised side who ran away with League One last season and look capable of making light work of the Championship."
Despite a few players not performing well on Saturday, KJ had the courage to start the same 11. Some on here were predicting 3 changes at least.
In KJ we trust. That should be our slogan this season.
Now I'm not saying we shouldn't improve our squad, but right now things are going quite well and by all account we dominated Rotherham only to lose with a sucker punch.
The style of football must be pleasing to the eye and a far cry from the hoof-ball we were used to before.
The final ball was lacking tonight. Got into good positions many times without finding a man with either pass or cross.
Evans or RVLP man of the match.
Naive opinions Wolfie. If Dicko and Batth got injured after the transfer window closed our results would definitely suffer, this is a squad game, it's no good entering a season saying I don't think these players will get injured then wondering why we didn't get any players in when the window was open. We have a weakness in the squad that everyone else except you seems to be able to see
A great win and still on course for 100 points + this season
Never thought you'd be so negative in your views. You're worrying about something that hasn't happened.
IF, IF, IF.
The likelihood of injuries over the course of a season is the main reason why squads were invented.
It's not hard.
The reality is that we are disagreeing over nothing.
We WILL add players this window, you can bet your life on that.
Who was that defender Pundit kept mentioning early in the summer, Kenny had looked at him last year?

If my auntie had bôllox she'd be my uncle !
Jordan Spence is who i am thinking of.
Well we can score from corners now but still not from penalties!
We need to start pressing home or advantage a bit more I reckon. Thought tonight was very similar to the Norwich game plenty of possession & some great chances tha t should have been taken not least of which the penalty.
Back four were outstanding especially Batth. I do think though that Ricketts gives us more than Doherty going forward. Evans was outstanding some of his passing was Beckham-esque. RVLP showed some real quality in the second half too.
Roll on Saturday and the more points.
Cardiff won't fancy playing us just now. The advantage Wolves have over all three relegated sides is a settled playing style and established team spirit.
Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff are best being played right now - before they find their feet (if they ever do).
That's why I had us down for ten points from the opening four games, though I thought we would beat Rotherham and draw against one of the other three.
I think it's easy to forget how new Evans and Price are to first team football. They both have the best part of ten years improvement left in them, and they are both good players already. Evans didn't play well at Rotherham but his passing against Northampton and tonight was excellent. He can knock a ball 50 yards to a players feet and was doing that regularly tonight against a decent team. He can only get better and he has really bulked up over the summer so doesn't look like a kid anymore
Glad he bounced back so well tonight thats for sure DJ.
As for Cardiff unc, will be a real test for Batth and Stears with Jones and Maynard but it looks like they concede a lot of posession and are fragile at the back. Should play into our hand on the attacking front.
Players are going to have 'off days', it's only natural and KJ sees this. But what is encouraging, is that he's starting the same side for the league matches. Don't expect any changes for Saturday either, unless someone gets crocked in training. All the press hype about Ricketts and Price returning never happened and that led to some on here predicting a few changes for last nights game. Just trust KJ and his team.
Unc. I'm well aware of the term 'squad', but we're 3 games in and no major injury worries. We didn't have an injury problem last season so why are posters worried about what might happen this season. We're hardly likely to have 2, 3 or 4 players injured in any given match. I think we have enough cover for now not to be too concerned about new arrivals.
KJ will get someone in if he feels it's the right decision.
Just as a footnote, 10 days and counting to offload our unwanted players. Are those on here that thought we'd get rid of them before the window closes, still that confident?
They will go on loan at the eleventh hour wolfie
Jackett confirming that wolves will be looking to bring players in right up to the transfer deadline and into the loan period. So he clearly recognises we are short on a couple of areas of the squad. The start to the season has been very good and if we can land a couple of signings to give the squad the depth we are lacking then we could be in for a very good season. Certainly the quality of last nights performance was really encouraging and the only concern is whether we could maintain that if we got injuries in the positions where we have limited cover
