Finally, it's 10 years late but finally!
I don't like the idea, too many incidents that are subjective for me. It's not the same as tennis or cricket.
Personally I don't like any changes in sport that alter the way it is played at one level but not others.

Ridiculous IMO, especially when it's on decisions that are a matter of opinion and not fact, only the ball over the line is a decision of fact, that and offiside, what is a foul and what isn't is entirely subjective
In principle it is a good idea – and long overdue. The game is considerably quicker than it used to be and incorrect decisions are common.
While there are incidents which will always involve a degree of interpretation there are others that are black and white. The Henry handball against Ireland an example which denied a nation's participation in a major tournament.
I remember debating this on the old 606 as Fifa had initially rejected the implementation of a video ref as they deemed it a “rule change.” Therefore it would have to be employed at every level.
However over years the addition of forth officials, goal line technology, and referee’s assistants (what exactly do they do!!?) have evidenced that the game has different measures of control at each level.
I trial certainly would be something looking into.
If it is done as an appeal system (as the BBC article says) where there are a set amount of appeals, like tennis/cricket I think it will be good. I know cricket & tennis have more natural breaks in play, but there is certainly enough in football for it to work. In the long run, it may stop players kicking the ball out then appealing for a throw in, then berrating the official for getting the correct decision.
Only downside would be some players/managers using up their appeals within the first 2 mins.
The Penalty example is a good one.
If the manager asks the Ref to look at any normal corner the ref will see a defender holding an attacker.
Its a foul the referee will have to give a penalty or justify why a blatant foul now isn't a foul.

Surely that would be a good thing & defenders can't get away with holding the forwards back.
Blatter can féck right off.
It shouldn't be for his crooked cronies to vote him into power again, it should be the management and players within the game, even the fans.

I bet right now I'm the only person that is 100% behind video replays to be implemented in Football on 606.. but in time, I bet half of you nay sayers will come around and act all high and mighty to the other nay sayers in the future..
I gave up on the current officiating system after the RM v MU tie in 2013.
Refs can't do it on their own anymore, it's time to move forward and upward

It is ridiculous that football has been unable to reduce the barbaric amount of abuse that referees get. In any other place of work an employee would be severely disciplined for the amount of abuse they give referees, but footballers get away with it.
Rather than respecting the officials decision, FIFA are now suggesting that they be challenged into making impossibly difficult decisions - calling a contentious foul which could be called either way. Fouls are subjective and the referee is well within his rights to call the game as he sees it.
I'm all for technology in football, but only where the technology is capable of making the decision, in black or white cases.
This will surely lead to an even greater level of abuse towards referees, where they make a game changing contentious call, and inevitably accused of bias, regardless their decision.
It doesn't help when punditry, the media, and post-match press conferences will almost always be centered on refereeing decisions rather than needless frivolities such as tactics.
No thanks. Refs should make decisions and let the game continue. half the fun of watching footy is feeling cheated by the ref. More so when you're loosing.
The more refs depend of technology the more they use it.,Look at Rugby. Refs are incapable of making decisions and it even takes ages for the TV ref to sort it out

No, it's really not. May as well just roll a rigged dice and lose every time
C,mon football fans only moan at the refs when it goes against them.

Because it was really fun out performing Madrid at OT and seemingly on our way to the next round only for the ref to wrongly send off Nani and then watching us concede two goals within the 10 minutes after that wasn't it?

We shouldn't have to be moaning at refs, none of us should. We should only have to moan about our players and or team not playing well enough
the Baz Tard in the black will be sadly missed at football grounds up and down the country when TV sorts it out
