Football is a billion pound industry being officiated by buffoons. Greens handling error yesterday was unmissable yet the linesman did? Had he been sent off QPR would have lost so should they stay up by a point he has changed 2 clubs financial destiny to a ridiculous degree. Time to use technology for such incidents!
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe it is but the money invested wa sinvested under the understanding that referees made mistake so if investors are complaining hten the yshould not have invested.

I hate the thought of video technology personally and cannot for the life of me why people would want it.

watch any game you like and every single player on the pitch will make more mistakes during the course of the game than the referee. Its part and parcel why the media hype it up like crazy I dont know. Look at the game agaisnt utd for instance. they went on for ages about the fact that the ball had crosed the line before verts cleared it but why? It was offside anyway so it did not matter if it was 30 foot over the fecking line.

There is a good reason that for over a 100 years football has been the most watched and best supported team game in the world. Fans are fanatical the excitement is incredible and you (the OP) want to turn it into a clinical game, not for me I am afraid I have done without video technology for over 50 years and dont want to see it at all

Have to agree with grandspurs on this one!

The Laws of the game state the referee is THE SOLE ARBITOR of the game, his decision is viewed as final! Mistakes and all..................................

I partly agree with anti-video technology comments like GG/Grand. However I wish they were better with post-game punishments. After a game all divers should be fined, and all off the ball offences (of recent Shelvy, Cahill, Adams, Sterling) should be given their retrospective 3 game punishments.

I was for a bit of video once upon a time but no more than goal line for me. Agree with you Edin, greater accountability and clarity is needed on referrals but part of us loves the element of outrage and indignation that follows a bad decision.

I do agree with that but until the authorities start doing drastic things like deducting points for diving or violence then nothing will change.

The players have to much power over the clubs and the clubs have to much power over the authorities those are the problems concerning discipline nad behaviour

The first thing that should be sorted is the rugby style tackling in the box (ala Rooney).

This is purely and simply not only against the Laws of Football, it is also cheating & as bad, if not worse than diving.

When have we seen a referee give a let alone a free kick or a penalty for this offence?

I think the FA should issue a notice to all clubs (let's face every club has players who do this) that referees will start awarding free kicks (if it is an attacker) and penalties (if a defender) plus cards or in extreme cases cards.

It would only take a short period of Zero Tolerance for this to be eradicated from our game. Whilst this is allowed to continue, players will continue to believe they can get away with anything!
