DeGale deserves some recognition now
First world title fight and got the decision in the U.S.

His only lost was an early close fight with Groves which could have gone his way.

I thought the pro Groves crowd played a part
No hatred for DeGale from me
Admiration for buckling down and going again

He was struggling after the Groves fight, thought about quitting boxing, couldn't pay his mortgage.

Got some improvements to make especially his conditioning

Cardio is an issue for de gale!

He'll be able to pay it now and depended on him performing for a few fights now, he's in the best decision to make money!

He was gassing out towards the latter rounds but just did enough

Tbh when he battered Paul smith I thought he had something about him and I do hope we get a big fight between him and groves, just think groves is one!

I think groves is done myself but will reserve my judgement till after his next fight

That was an explosive fight.

I had it as a draw but im pleased for DeGale.

Credit to Dirrell after his knockdown in the 2nd - Dirrell showed a lot of heart to battle back & take this fight all the way.

DeGale had a lot of critics but he has backed it up with a World Title belt.

I thought the scoring card judges was crazy 117-109 - that was a crazy scoring.

It is a mental thing when you get knocked out like that.
After the first Froch fight, Groves should have signed with Top Rank and got top trainer, and maybe moved out to America.

I thought it was reality close but made up for de Gale to win it!

Degale was blowing from the mid rounds onwards.

I had it level. Great to see another British World Champion, even if he's a bit of a t!t outside the ring.

Needs to learn work on his conditioning.

the knockdown won it for de gale...very close fight ...

DeGale only got stick for his antics in the build up to the groves fight cos he acted like an ar sehole, telling people about bad breath,being ugly etc,guy was behaving like a kid and got beaten again by Groves. Was not that great a fight last night despite what some think,ran for loads of rounds and bar round 2 would have lost the fight. Groves looks bigger to me,punches cleaner and i would take 11/10 Groves if they met again. Congrats to James Degale for setting a new record here and he clearly deserves respect but,if they were 2 and 3 in the sm division things are not great after Ward and Froch.
