Sterling.

You could be right about the Sterling photos or it could be, as I've suggested, that the club released the photos to a journo as part of their PR campaign against Sterling. That's certainly what Ward has suggested. I guess we'll never know for sure.

You might be right, true. We'll never know for sure.

However, in my personal opinion the smart money would be on neither being involved. So much more likely. To blame either of Ward or FSG I think you'd need to be looking at it from a slightly paranoid position. Or have no idea how often papers do sit on stories. For example, there are a truck load on Lineker if he ever loses his golden boy halo

Jesus.

Skrtel hasn't asked to leave has he. He doesn't say that anywhere.

The contract is whack if true, daft thing to offer, but I'm not sure the club are too keen on him anyway. We've rumoured to have entertained offers a few times now from City and I think Napoli last year.

The reason it is in the papers is because people love talking about Liverpool Football Club and this thread is further evidence of that.

WBA have 9 players out of contract this summer. Read all about it!

Pity they couldn't have all come out before the been committed to paying him his stupid salary for another 5 years and condemned us all to irritating smugness and laboured puns every saturday.

Can I say, as a neutral, that I would love nothing more than for Liverpool not to clog up the papers all the time and for your players' contract negotiations to be carried out in a private room rather than in the national press.

If you look at the actual figures given for clubs' worldwide fan bases Liverpool are the 4th or 5th biggest club in England, but much of the press still thinks it is 1988 (the been being the worst offender, though of course they love a bit of footie nostalgia, they don't have the rights to show any decent live football these days, so let's run the VT of that ronnie radford goal for the 1000th time).

Papers only print what people want to read and worldwide fan bases are not only suspect but also kind of moot in relation to the British media.

with the 4-5th largest fanbase and add in that we're the favourite club to kick when not doing well by 1-4 and Everton, you're looking at 80% of the country being interested.

A good point, Nigerian Chelsea fans are not buying The Express, but I don't see domestic fanbase figures reported very often.

And yes, the media reports what people want to read, but equally I doubt too many people would complain if your contract discussions were not endlessly made public (last 18 months we have heard about Suarez, Gerrard, Henderson, Sterling, and now Skrtel). And by "heard about" I don't just mean two columns at the bottom of a page, I mean endless articles, opinion polls, all sorts of blather.

Papers don't print what people 'want to read'. They print what they want to tell them.

Never been much of a fan of Skrtel. If he left I don't think it would be the worse thing. With him in the team the last two seasons we have conceded way too many goals. He doesn't suit playing a high line either or trying to pass the ball out of defence. Regardless of my personal opinion the contract situation is stupid as he should be awarded a proper contract because of years of service and previous history of realibility of playing so many games a year.

I can honestly say I've never read a single word about any Kardashian. I'm not sure I know anyone who has. I would suggest that people only 'want' to read about such things because they're being bombarded by it.

I think this is a huge season for Sakho. When he plays (When fit not the Stoke game) we have bee solid at thew back. When he came back into the team after the Utd game we hardly conceded and then when he got injured we were screwed again.

Skrtel did well last season but he could not play alongside Carra or Agger that well and they carried him. He has been dropped a couple of times in the last few years and recovered well but not for long sustained periods. We are stuck witj Lovren now as well. We should build the defence with Sakho and +1.

Too many players are too greedy. Absolute disgrace!

I was a bit hard on Sakho because of his awkward style, but I agree he's the one to build on. He's quality.

TKT is that why Depay who was about to join PSG nearly done deal before LVG spoke to him. LVG doesn't like signing players while the season is still being played but was forced to and then Depay made his mind to play under LVG again.

Like the way you made the last line up.
How did it go, "There has been some speculation other clubs interested in me, and they are currently being looked at."
The actual line was,
'There was some speculation about interest from other clubs but that is not coming from me. Now I am with the national team and will be going on holiday after that.”
What a tool you are.

My apologies to the op.
Looks like hes he picked the only media source touting this line.
Seems someone at Eurosport is at the ballax.
Same story reported by Sky, Mirror, Star, BBC, etc, that do not include that made up line.
