Your the one fabricating a story of what you think happened!
Here's an opinion of what could have happened. Maybe Rodgers wasn't happy with his assistants and decided a change was needed, maybe he threw them under the bus to save his own skin.
I don't know what happened and I'm not stating as fact "like you" that the owners sacked pascoe and marsh and made the new appointments with out consulting the manager.
If Rodgers let them fire his staff and long time friend against his wishes then he's a shît house but I think putting it on the owners again is laughable. The decision to change staff will probably be down to Rodgers.
I said losing and you said lost. Big difference in the scenario described. The owners saw this potential issue and have tried to paper over it by giving Rodgers another year but this time to change things in the backroom staff.
Rodgers giving praise to a fellow Irish man is hardly endorsing him to become his assistant.

So it's obvious the manager has lost the dressing room and the owners have kept him in charge and think that sacking the staff that worked for him will fix it and then appoint his next assistant (without him having any say in the matter) with someone that Rodgers has previously spoken very highly of in the past?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's definitely out ITK fly on the boardroom wall.
I also like that we have to acknowledge how well Hyypia done to get Leverkuesen into the champions league, but ignore his failings after that, yet at the same time discount rodgers getting into the champions league and rather concentrate on his failings after that.
Quality stuff
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have already acknowledged that Hyppia failed at Brighton and was sacked in Germany. Comprehension is clearly lacking from you

I find it laughable that Sami should've got the job because he played at a high level, he's got limited expo of coaching. He was a coach for a few months at Leverkusen before he was given the job after the manager left. He then failed at Brighton, that's the total of his coaching or managing.
He's wanted simply because he played for us, would people be happy for John Barnes to come in? No because he was a cráp manager and failed at every club he was at. Great player though!

Thing is though, there are many, including myself that think SL comes on here purely to prod the proverbial bees nest. Do you think someone who posts complete negativity is being constructive? I certainly don't..... You have your issues at times, I think you flip flop far too easily, and sometimes lose sight of the bigger picture. But you do acknowledge the positives when they happen and are always positive when we win. That certainly isn't the case with SL.
Maybe this will make you see why I speak the way I do about him......

I think shortlight feels that in this case O'Driscoll doesn't have the experience or profile to hack it at a club as big as Liverpool.
He does come out with a lot of negative comments but he has a valid point that there won't be many fans getting excited about his appointment. Also I think it's not just a case of being negative for the sake of it. He's pretty consistent that we are moving in the wrong direction as a club so naturally it's going to be difficult to see many positives, especially after a rough season that feel well short of what we all hoped for.
My own view on O'Driscoll is he's in line with Rodgers way of playing and I'm all for getting back to the exciting attacking football we were playing the season before last. If it helps Brendan get a more settled team pattern going then it's all good by me. We need far less chopping and changing of formations and tactics and have a go to set up we can depend on.
So far this summer we are actually doing better in the transfer market that we did with the CL to look forward to last season. Madness. But I'm encouraged and quite optimistic.

On the appointment of O'Driscoll as assistant manager.
What do people think the assistant manager does and why would we need the appointment of the role to be exciting? He is going to work under and implement the managers wishes on the training field, he's not there to implement a new way of thinking. He's there to do what the manager tells him to do and the manager needs to trust him and know him.

Nobody is asking for a new way of thinking but when our defensive record has been poor in the 3 Rodgers years what we don't need is some like who KLS described as a yes man. Rodgers like all managers is not a jack of all trades and he clearly needs help to improve the defensive side while still having the attacking threat that he loves. Is the type of number 2 that KLS describes likely to bring this? I doubt it.
People talk about Steve Clarke role under KK in that sole season and we only conceded 40 goals that season. There were other things wrong that season but KK number 2 had a decent impact in the defence.
Kash I agree with you that a coach with a better defensive set up would be good but the manager will only work with an assistant that he wants to, Rodgers will be the one appointing O'Driscoll.
I wouldn't have suggested him and I'm not particularly thrilled with him because I don't know much about him. Rodgers obviously does and that's why he's got the job.
You say Rodgers had no control over sacking Pascoe and Marsh and no control over who comes in.
That's just bullshît.
Managers always give the assistant job to a met, someone they know through football or someone they've played with and that's the way it is. I'm not saying its right but it's what happens. If the owners wanted a different approach they should have changed the manager because that's the only way.
Kash has obviously never been to a training session in his life.
I don't care what he did as a manager. I care whether he puts on innovative high intensity fun training sessions.
Hyypia's team when he was solely in charge of Leverkusen let in lots of goals. Brighton let in lots of goals.
With regards to ARE saying I shouldn't be 'nasty' and shortlight saying he should be allowed his opinion here is the news fúcknuts.
If you are continually negative about something that I care deeply about you're going to get an acrimonious response.
Never heard of him, don't know his CV, good or bad, don't care either. What I do care, is that he or whoever gets the job hits the deck running and does their level best to get our club back up to the top.
Looking briefly at the above posts, trying substituting the name O'Driscoll with the name Shankly. Yes, there are clearly differences, but, was The Shanks that highly thought of before his appointment with our club?

O'Driscoll was harshly sacked at Forest and a lot of the fans would have had him back. He played decent stuff to be fair but as said it's not his management I'm worried about but rather the sessions he puts on.
Looking at the Forrest board they don't know why he was sacked when he was and thought he was doing ok.
Can only see how we get on!
I live in Nottingham and the fans were not happy. He played nice stuff tbh. Got sacked after a 4-2 win as well but the away form was pretty rammal to use some local dialect. They then went and brought in bitter Billy Davies again and he was awful. Then Pearce who was again awful.
Hopefully Dougie will get them back to the prem as it'll be great for the city.
